AVerMedia AVerVision Connecting With 2 VGA Cables If you wish to have computer and a document camera connected to your projector, and do not want to disconnect and reconnect cables when switching from one to the other, you can connect them with 2 VGA cables.
VGA Cable
NOTE: Your document camera and projector should both come equipped with a VGA cable.
Connecting the Projector to the Document Camera Take one end of the VGA cable and connect to the document camera output.
The other end of the VGA cable connects to the projector computer input.

Connecting a Desktop Computer The best way to connect a desktop computer to a document camera/projector is with the use of a long VGA cable and Y splitter cable. In this way, you can still see you monitor image when not using the projector.
Remove the monitor cable from the back of the computer, and insert one end of the Y splitter.
Connect the monitor cable and long VGA cable to the Y splitter as shown below.

Connect the other end of the long cable to the VGA or RGB input on the document camera.
Camera/PC button. You will not have to disconnect and re-connect any cables.
NOTE: If any cables are disconnected from the setup, the monitor image may become blurry. If this happens, disconnect Y splitter, and reconnect monitor cable.
Connecting a Laptop Connect the second VGA cable to the VGA or RGB input on the document camera.

Connect the other end of the VGA cable to the monitor connection on the laptop.
If the image is not projecting: Hold down the laptop’s Function Key (Fn)
While holding down the Function Key, press once on the appropriate function number key. The appropriate function number key may have a picture of a monitor and a projection screen, or it may say LCD. It could be F5, as shown, or F3, or F8. It depends on the laptop.
To toggle between viewing the document camera image and the computer image, press the Camera/PC button. You will not have to disconnect and re-connect any cables.
