GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS To ensure the utmost performance from your Unique 3-Way Cooler, we recommend following these easy steps:
STEP 1 Plug in to a 110V home outlet to pre-chill the empty cooler for up to 6 hours
STEP 2 Keep your food and drinks cool via 12V DC connection while you’re on the road
STEP 3 Propane power keeps your food fresh at the cottage, camp and beyond
• Pre-chill foods (to cold or frozen) before adding them to the cooler. The 45L cooler will not freeze foods if they are put in warm. The cooler will keep thoroughly chilled foods cold. The DeepCold zone of the 55L cooler will maintain pre-frozen foods, or thoroughly chill cool foods. • The 45L cooler is rated to maintain a temperature 25˚C cooler than ambient temperature. The 55L cooler is rated to maintain a temperature 36˚C cooler than ambient temperature. • Do NOT place the cooler directly in the sun when operating, as this will reduce its effi ciency. • Limit opening the fridge as this will result in temperature loss, reducing the cooler’s effi ciency. • Liquids to be stored in the cooler should always be in closed containers. The air circulation inside the cooler must not be obstructed. • Do not fi ll inner container with ice or fl uid.
12
MAINTENANCE • Clean the cooler regularly with warm water containing a detergent if necessary. Never use an abrasive product. Dry the cleaned surfaces with a soft cloth. Use only clear water to clean the seal of the cover, and then lightly coat the seal with talcum powder. • All repairs, particularily of the cooling unit or the gas burner system must be performed by a licensed technician. • THIS APPLIANCE HAS NO CONSUMER SERVICEABLE PARTS. RETURN TO A GAS DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIR.
DEFROSTING
To ensure efficient operation, the cooler must be defrosted regularly. To defrost the cooler, disconnect it and remove all food. To help remove any ice build-up, use a cloth soaked in hot water. After de-icing, mop up the water with a clean, dry cloth and wipe down the inside of the unit. Allow all surfaces to dry thoroughly. If the cooler is to remain unused for an extensive period of time (ie: seasonal shutdown), disconnect it and remove all food. De-ice, clean and dry the cooler thoroughly. Store the cooler with the lid slightly open to prevent any off-odors from developing during prolonged storage.
COOLER STORAGE
• Store cooler in a cool, dry and ventilated area, on a stable, level surface. • Protect the cooler while in storage from inclement weather, excessive heat or direct sunlight, water, snow, dust and nesting insects.
SET-UP AFTER LONG-TERM STORAGE
• Wipe down the cooler inside and out with warm water containing a detergent if necessary. Never use an abrasive product. Dry the cleaned surfaces with a soft cloth. • This is an absorption cooler which operates by using a 3 part gas system which, from time to time, may need remixing. If after a long-term storage the cooler does not produce any or enough cooling in an expected amount of time after start-up, disonnect the appliance and turn it upside down for a few minutes then turn it right side up. Do this several times to remix the gas, and reconnect.
GAS CYLINDER STORAGE
• Store the gas cylinder in a cool, dry and ventilated area, protected from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures above 50˚C.
