But Case had other plans. It all began with an inventor, Jerome Increase Case, and the challenge of a frontier, not on a map but in the history of modernization. It was 1842, the saxophone and lager beer had just been invented. For Jerome I Case, modernity meant threshing machines and steam engines. He was the first to design steam engines specifically for farm use, and the company’s name became synonymous with steam engines. In 1912 Case entered the construction equipment sector as a producer of machinery for road works. From then on construction sites became as important as farmland as proving grounds for the firm’s machinery, and in the mid-90s Case was world leader in the production of small to medium sized construction equipment. 6 7 VISION We moved mountains to achieve our VISION - AND WE MEAN THAT LITERALLY! Each hour includes a 5-minute break. 29 CRAWLER EXCAVATORS SR POWERFUL PERFORMER The Case Short Radius Excavators 75SR, 135SR and 225SR are powered by a compact four cylinder Tier 3 engine providing excellent power to meet various applications. Electronically-controlled, the common rail engines are equipped with combustion optimizing engines, contributing to a reduction in fuel consumption and reduced emissions, whilst the CX75SR already meets the Tier 4 stage 1 compliance. In combination with lower engine speeds, this gives reduced downtime for refuelling, resulting in increased productivity and environment requirements. SERVICE ACCESS Ground level servicing with remote mounted filters in the hydraulic pump housing. A new parallel type radiator and coolers design allow easy access for cleaning, while the intercooler is separately mounted for improved performance. Extended 500 hour service intervals are standard across the range, providing minimal downtime and maximum productivity. A purpose designed catwalk provides easy access to all service and diagnostic points. Ecological oil drain plugs cut the risk of ground contamination during regular service and repair. Service access. Reduced downtime. POWER TO PERFORM With a compact upperstructure and well balanced design, the WX machines offer high lifting and digging performance. Fully independent dozer blade and stabiliser control, and mechanically lockable stabiliser pads, give the machine a solid working platform. High engine output with Power Boost function ensures total productivity. PowerShift transmission provides optional travel speeds of 25 kph with gear shifting on the move, yet retains best in class tractive effort for dozing. Swing relief pressure has been adjusted to match the boom raising speed, allowing smooth multifunction cycles for increased productivity. Ease of service Centralised filter location within the left hand side of the bodywork allows access from ground level to all regular maintenance points. Green oil drains reduce environmental impact, ensuring that there is no ground contamination during regular service. The engine is connected to the hydrostatic pumps by a drive shaft, which reduces machine vibration and makes this machine more comfortable to operate. Maximum control The 1650L can push a full load through a turn without losing control of the load, braking or raising the blade, so you can finish the job faster. The key to this productivity is the high-performance PowerStat hydrostatic drive. Dual path hydrostatics adjust infinitely (up to 6 mph) and provide drawbar pull (up to nearly 62,000 pounds) automatically. Or, select any of the 10 speed increments to suit your own operational speed. Tough undercarriage The undercarriage featured on Case crawler dozers is built rock solid. The pinned equalizer beam suspension keeps this machine smooth at any speed and delivers plenty of stability and traction for work on slopes, stump removal or pushing hard at low speeds. Heavy-duty pins, bushings and rollers provide long-term track life. Operator comfort To maximize your productivity, the spacious, isolation-mounted operator’s compartment cushions your body from noise and vibration and provides excellent visibility to the blade and surrounding work site.
