COSASCO® Bluetooth® Suite ER Probe Reader Bluetooth Kit The ER Probe Reader Bluetooth Kit is a convenient and portable standard Electrical Resistance (ER) instrument kit for measuring corrosion rate in any process media. The ER Probe Reader (ER-100) directly connects to ER Standard/Temperature probes*. Measurement readings are displayed and recorded by the Transfer Unit (TU500). A cable is only required where access to a probe is difficult and an extension cable is used to position the ER-100 at an easy access location. The ER-100 may be read by the TU-500 from up to 32 ft. (10m) distance with clear line of site. The ER-100 reader replaces the previous Checkmate and CK-4 instrument when used with the TU500 Transfer Unit. A typical ER probe reading system consists of an ER probe connected to a hollow plug and inserted into a Cosasco Access Fitting that has been welded onto the pipeline. The ER probe can be installed and retrieved under full operating pressure using a Cosasco Retriever and Service Valve. The ER-100 Probe Reader and Probe Adapter are placed into the probe. The TU-500 Transfer Unit communicates wirelessly with the ER-100 to take a metal loss reading. Collected readings on the TU-500 can be downloaded wirelessly to a PC running Cosasco Data Offline Software for graphing and analysis. ER Probe Reader Bluetooth Kit Typical System-Low Pressure ER Probe Reader 1” NPT Nipple Ball Valve Threadolet ER Retractable Probe ER Corrosion Monitoring Point: Low Pressure (up to 1500 psi) The above diagram shows the equipment required for a typical low pressure corrosion monitoring point using electrical resistance measurement technology. The electronic part of the ER Probe reading system works the same as the high pressure system except it does not require a probe adapter between the retractable probe and ER-100 when taking a reading. A standard Threadolet is welded onto the pipeline and a ball valve is installed and remains in situ. A retractable probe is installed and retracted under full operating pressure using a Cosasco Model 60 Retractor Kit.
