Points to emphasize
1
All of Adobe’s latest professional creative tools and more: Creative Cloud for team members get more than just the latest versions of CS6 applications. They also get collaboration tools, 100GB of online storage, hosting services for up to 5 websites, and more.
2
Greater productivity: IT managers can boost productivity and manageability when they use Creative Cloud. Standardizing on Creative Cloud for teams can help simplify implementation, training, and maintenance and helps ensure compliance.
3
Streamlined licensing: Managing multiple versions of products is costly and hinders collaboration. (Use licensing and purchase order history data to estimate the number of desktops with multiple versions of older point products.)
4
Instant updates: Creative Cloud members receive updates and new products as they become available, so they don’t have to wait—or pay additional—for full-version releases.
Handling objections Objection
Response
“We aren’t ready to switch from Creative Suite to Creative Cloud at this time.”
Even though you may not be ready today, we recommend that you get a few memberships to start. Here’s why: • You can prepare your institution by evaluating and testing the latest software. • You will establish membership in Adobe’s VIP program, and you can deploy additional seats quickly, if budget owners request them.
“We have security concerns about cloud applications and data storage.”
Creative Cloud applications are delivered via the cloud, but they run locally for maximum performance: • The applications install on your local hard drive and function the same as the desktop versions. • You can direct users to store sensitive information elsewhere. • Using the 100GB of storage included is optional.
“Renting software will be more expensive over time.”
Consider the cost comparison of purchasing new versions of perpetual licenses. In addition: • Perpetual licenses have a fixed value over time, whereas a Creative Cloud membership delivers increasing value over time, especially as your work groups grow. • Also to be considered is the opportunity cost of not having access access to the latest Adobe technology.
“We have a locked-down IT environment, and Creative Cloud doesn’t meet our requirements.”
While there may be some limitations to broad deployment in larger managed environments: • You don’t need to switch all your creative desktops right away. • You retain the rights to existing licenses even when you purchase Creative Cloud for teams. • We recommend that you prepare by purchasing, evaluating, and testing a smaller deployment. This will establish membership in Adobe VIP and allow you to deploy additional seats quickly, if budget owners request them.
“We can’t allow administrative rights for users to install their own applications.”
In this case, we recommend centralized deployment and updates: • Use Adobe’s Enterprise Deployment tool to install the Creative Suite 6 components. http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/creativesuite/ pdfs/CCT_IT_Deployment_Guide.pdf • Use the Creative Cloud Packager (a new IT deployment tool for Creative Cloud for teams) when it is available in April 2013. *Internet connection required. Syncing functionality requires a separate download and agreement to additional terms. Adobe online services, including the Adobe Creative Cloud service, are available only to users 13 and older and require agreement to additional terms and Adobe’s online privacy policy (see www.adobe.com/go/terms). The applications and online services are not available in all countries or languages, may require user registration, and may be subject to change or discontinuation without notice. Additional fees or membership charges may apply. **Creative Cloud for teams is appropriate for education customers with small work groups, such as marketing, administrative offices, athletics and other departments that are not deploying Creative Cloud for teams in labs or classrooms. In addition, Creative Cloud for teams does not meet federal privacy or data protection requirements stipulated by Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Traditional Creative Suite products and licensing Ideal for organizations that want: • Specific and finite Adobe software products • A choice of licensing programs and payment options • Perpetual ownership of the license(s) • Ability to treat their software purchases as a capital expense and depreciate costs over time • To deploy and use Creative Suite in a lab or classroom
Common questions Creative Cloud for teams
Traditional CS6 licensing
Do I need to be connected to the Internet all the time?
Which versions can I upgrade from?
No, the applications install on your local hard drive and function the same as the desktop versions. Syncing to the cloud is optional.*
All future innovation, upgrades, and updates will be delivered via Creative Cloud. Consider Creative Cloud to avoid worrying about upgrades.
Will the Creative Cloud applications be slower than regular desktop versions?
Will I get updates when new versions are released?
Not at all. Because Creative Cloud applications are installed locally, you’ll still enjoy all the performance of CS, with features such as 64-bit support in Adobe Photoshop,® Illustrator,® Adobe Premiere® Pro, and After Effects® and Adobe Mercury performance. Will I be forced to move to new versions when released? Although all updates are made available to you immediately and are included for the term of your membership, you can install the new versions on your own schedule.
All future innovation and upgrades will be delivered via Creative Cloud where new tools and features are included with the cost of your subscription and are available as soon as they are released. Security is very important to our organization. Aren’t traditional desktop versions more secure? All CS6 applications for both traditional licensing and Creative Cloud install and run on the desktop. So, desktop software security is not a factor in choosing between Creative Cloud and Creative Suite.
