The Base Unit provides all the inputs and outputs needed to manage a complex audio system. The personal data of each delegate and their specific rights are entered into a database. Another screen provides lists of ballots, topics, and speakers for planning the conference. AKG updated the basic CS 5 Control software, adding many useful, advanced features. The accurate conference-system design and a GUI for constant monitoring of all system components make the new CS 5 Pro software an extremely powerful tool for every conferencing application. Features In addition to using lists to mange a conference, CS 5 Pro provides a graphic control mode: After loading a photo of the conference room, the microphone stations are assigned to the appropriate seats. The operator can activate or mute each station simply by clicking on its image. To facilitate votes, the system allows voting rights to be assigned to delegates as required. This generates quick and well-documented results. A „Comment“ option on one of the soft keys enables delegates to signal to the chair that they wish to make a comment at once on the subject at hand.
