As well as offering a diagnostic function to determine whether a battery can not only take, but retain a charge, the unique ‘Recond’ reconditioning mode can restore batteries with as little as 2v of charge. The new generation CTEK MXS 5.0 revives, charges, conditions and maintains all types of 12V lead-acid batteries including maintenance free CTEK NEWS NOVEMBER 2011 types and all chemistries including Wet, Calcium, GEL and AGM, also making it an ideal motorcycle battery charger. CTEK NEWS NOVEMBER 2011 PAGE02 CTEK NEWS November 2011 CTEK Winter Advertising Campaign To support seasonal in-store activity this winter, CTEK will be running a series of advertisements in key consumer titles. Please see opposite a copy of the advertisement and a schedule of activity below. If you would like a high resolution copy of the advert to support your own marketing activity please contact your distributor. The performance and lifespan of lead-acid batteries are seriously inhibited when exposed to temperature extremes whether hot, or more critically cold and as a result, effective battery management during the winter is essential for the wellbeing of the battery. Here are some ‘cool’ sales hints… SALES HINTS & TIPS Battery performance can reduce by 35% when temperatures hit freezing and fall by as much as 50% if temperatures go even colder – it’s therefore even more important that the battery is charged to full capacity. CTEK NEWS NOVEMBER 2011 CTEK Takes a Break! During the summer we ran a giveaway competition in Take a Break, one of the UK’s biggest weekly female lifestyle magazines that has a circulation of just under a million, the competition was also featured on the popular Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert website. As a result of this, CTEK received over 4,500 entries which is a great reward for the efforts that we have been giving to promoting the CTEK brand to previously unexplored target markets. At freezing temperatures an engine’s starting power requirement can increase by as much as 250 per cent when compared to that of a summer’s day. Furthermore with additional drains on the battery e.g. heated screens and seats, headlights and an increase in short journeys during the winter, the battery is being placed under a huge amount of strain. RAC and AA figures released during December 2010 place battery failure as the single biggest cause of breakdowns in the UK last winter. 3 During the winter months as many as one in three vehicles entering the workshop will have an undercharged battery.
