Your guide to the CubeX 3D Printer What is the CubeX 3D printer designed to do?
How easy is it to set up?
The CubeX 3D printer is designed to bring creations to life with professional grade printability for the office, school or home.
Customers needn’t be worried about set up problems, as it’s pretty much plug in and print. They simply need to ensure the printer base is on level on the surface it’s standing on, feed in the plastic media into the print head and plug it in.
How does 3D printing work? Unlike regular printing where the printer puts ink onto a flat surface, 3D printing builds up material in three dimensions to create a real object. The printer “draws” with a heated filament print solution, depositing a very fine 3D layer. The printer then builds another fine layer of plastic on top of the previous one, and then another, and another, until the layers have turned into a 3D object.
What can be made using the CubeX 3D printer? As long as the piece fits into the CubeX print area, you’re limited only by your imagination. The CubeX has a print space of 10.8” X 10.45” X 9.5” (275 mm x 265 mm x 240 mm). Examples of possible 3D print projects include children’s creations, student’s designs/prototypes, architectural models, replacement parts, prototypes, jewellery, phone covers, working gears, race cars, toys and much more. To see a range of examples visit www.cubify.com.
The CubeX comes with 10 free Professional Grade 3D Models for customers to print. There are more 3D plans to print in the Cubify Store, www.cubify.com or users can design their own 3D models using their free license of Cubify Invent. Once customers have a model, the CubeX software will turn it into a .cubex print document that the CubeX printer can read.
How do I get a file to my CubeX for printing? Files can be sent to a CubeX printer by transferring via a USB stick.
How long does it take to print a creation? The print time is proportional to the size and complexity of the creation. A chess piece will on average 40 minutes, while a complex smartphone case will take about 2-3 hours to print.
How easy is it to change print cartridges?
What colours can be uses? 3D filament print cartridges come in over 30 different colours. You can choose to build your creations in multi-colours and materials by using the CubeX Colour software.
How is the CubeX different from the Cube? The CubeX can use two materials and two colours at once. This gives greater scope for creativity and design. Although the Cube can use both of the available materials, it can only use them one at a time when printing.
What material does the CubeX use?
CubeX cartridges are filled with ABS plastic or PLA plastic filament and are designed to work with the CubeX. Switching them out is easy, they simply snap in. No mess. No hassle. The CubeX printer tells you how much filament you have left, and won’t let the printing of a creation start if there isn’t enough filaments to finish it, avoiding waste and saving your customers money.
What’s the UK warranty? The customer receives a 1-year warranty.
What’s the return policy?
The CubeX prints in ABS plastic and PLA plastic.
What is the difference between ABS and PLA Plastic? ABS and PLA are both plastic materials:• PLA plastic is specially formulated to be compostable or biodegrad able (great for Educational customers) • ABS is recyclable
How do customers start printing?
We don’t provide refunds on CubeX printers once they’re shipped. If you encounter any issues with your printer 3D systems are happy to repair it for free during the warranty period.
Customers may use either one on the new CubeX or both together.
