TECH NOTES When updating the DTP CP Matrix switcher firmware version 1.02, the following procedures are necessary: 1. Update the DTP CP firmware to v 1.02 or higher. a. Upload the new firmware using the Product Configuration Software, the Extron Firmware Loader program, or the DTP CP Matrix internal Web pages. b. Verify that the DTP CP Matrix firmware was updated by issuing it the SIS command “0Q” or “0q”. c. Power cycle the matrix. When setting up an IP address via Dataviewer or Telnet, user need to send an Esc 2 Boot command in order the IP setting to take.
KNOWN ISSUES The following is a list of known firmware issues found in the firmware Version 1.02.0002-B02 Build 01
Blocky image on some low end displays when output video format it set to Auto – In rare cases, the DTP CP matrix switcher will output a blocky image when output video format is set to auto. This can be corrected by setting the output video format to limited quantization.
Non-HDCP compliant display will output black video when HDCP source content is routed to it – In rare cases, the DTP CP matrix switcher will output black video instead of green video when HDCP source content is routed to a non-compliant display.

Twisted Pair Output 3 and 4 will not output audio when in XTP mode – When output 3 and/or 4 is set to XTP mode, the DTP CP will not output audio when the output video format is set to auto. This can be corrected by setting the video output to any specific HDMI format.
Intermittent short duration snow visible when switching sources – When switching between sources with different resolutions, snow will sometime be seen for a few seconds. This can be minimized by setting the video sources to similar resolution, color space and color bit depth.
High bit rate audio does not pass through the matrix – When routing Dolby True HD or DTS HD Master, the DTP CP will not route the audio format correctly.
A DVI display will show wrong color space when the incoming source signal is set to YUV – When routing a YUV source signal to a DVI display, intermittently the DVI display will show a wrong color space image. This can be corrected by setting the source signal to RGB color space. FIRMWARE RELEASE HISTORY
The following is a list of issues found in Firmware Version 1.01.0009-B01 for DTP CP matrix switchers are now resolved by Version 1.02.0002-B02.
Corrected the 3D compatibility issue – In prior versions of firmware, the DTP CP matrix switcher were unable to route certain 3D sources. This has been resolved in firmware version 1.02.0002-B02.
Corrected multi-channel audio issue – In prior versions of firmware, the DTP CP matrix switchers were unable to route multi-channel audio. This issue has been resolved in firmware version 1.02.0002-B02.
Corrected intermittent no output issue – In prior versions of firmware, the DTP CP matrix output would intermittently stop working. This has been resolved in firmware version 1.02.0002-B02
Corrected no audio from SPDIF output issue – In prior versions of firmware, the SPDIF audio output did not work. This issue has been resolved in firmware version 1.02.0002-B02.
Corrected UART functionality intermittently stop working issue – In prior versions of firmware, the UART functionality would intermittently stop working after a period of time. This has been resolved in firmware version 1.02.0002-B02.
Corrected backup matrix configuration issue – In prior versions of firmware, the DTP matrix did not backup certain settings. This has been resolved with firmware version 1.02.0002-B02.

TECH NOTES When updating the DTP CP Matrix switcher firmware version 1.01, the following procedures are necessary: 2. Update the DTP CP firmware to v 1.01 or higher. KNOWN ISSUES The following is a list of known firmware issues found in the firmware Version 1.01.0005 Build 01
Blocky image will show with some low end displays when video format it set to Auto – In rare case, the DTP CP matrix switcher will output a blocky image when output video format is set to auto. In order to correct the issue, the video output format need to be force to a limited quantization.
USA: 800.633.9876 (inside US/Canada only) or 714.491.1500 Europe: +800.3987.6673 (inside Europe only) or +31.33.453.4040 Asia: +65.383.4400 Japan: +81.3.3511.7655
Cascading two DTP CP with a DTP T 330/230 will cause output video to flash or cause snow – When you cascaded two DTP CP with a DTP T 330/230, the second matrix will output snow or flashing image.
Outputs 3 and 4 video will drop one frame of video every few seconds when the input signal is 1080i.
None HDCP compliant display will output black video when HDCP content is routes to it – In rare case, the DTP CP matrix switcher will output black video instead of green video when HDCP content is routed to it.
Output 3 and 4 will not output audio when in XTP mode – When output 3 and/or 4 is set to XTP mode, the DTP CP will not output audio when the output video format is set to auto. This issue can be correct if the user force the output format to any HDMI format.
Saving a box configuration does not save output format settings, output color bit depth settings, scaler brightness and contrast settings, and scaler size and position settings.
Snow will sometimes be shown when switching between sources – When switching between sources with different resolutions, snow will sometime be seen for a few seconds. In order to minimize this issue, it is recommended to have all your sources set to the same resolution, color space and color bit depth.
High bit rate audio does not pass through the matrix – When routing Dolby True HD or DTS HD Master, the DTP CP will not route the audio format correctly.
S/PDIF does not output Multi-channel audio formats – When routing multichannel audio formats, the DTP CP will not route the audio format correctly.
A DVI display will show wrong color space when the incoming signal is set to YUV – When routing a YUV signal to a DVI display, sometime the DVI display will show up in a wrong color space. To correct this issue, you can force all the incoming source to RGB.
Updating firmware via the embedded webpages will get stuck in the verified state after firmware update is complete – When updating firmware via the embedded webpages, the webpages will get stuck in the verified state after the firmware update is complete. To correct this issue, you just need to close and reopen the webpage connection after the DTP CP resets.
