CUSTOMER CARE NOTICE BLENDER C12BW11 The lid and jug MUST be fitted correctly or it will not start. Please follow the below instructions: 1. Align the arrow on the jug to the “unlock” arrow on the base and turn the jug anti-clockwise to the “lock” position. To unlock, turn the jug clockwise. 1250 1000 800 600 400 unlock lock 2. Position the arrow on the lid to the left of the arrow on the jug handle, turn anti-clockwise until the two arrows line up. O PE R AT I O N C L E A N IN G 1. Make sure the jug and the lid are secure and in the LOCK position. Cleaning the jug: 2. Set the selector switch to ‘0’. 1. Pour about 500ml of warm soapy water into the jug and place the jug on the base. 3. Plug your blender into the mains socket and switch on the power. Blender's Operation Modes Continuous (Normal) operation • Select the desired operating speed. There are 2 speeds. Move the speed selector progressively to the right to increase the speed. When you start blending use a low speed to begin with and gradually increase the speed if necessary. • To stop the operation, turn the speed selector back to ‘0’. Pulsed operation Use this mode when ingredients need to be blended in small repeated bursts. • Turn the speed selector to ‘P’ and hold it there for a short period of time. • To stop the operation, release the speed selector which will then automatically return to ‘0’. During blending, you can feed in small amounts of food or liquid through the lid. To do this: 2. Turn and hold the speed selector to ‘P’ for a few seconds to loosen any food particles and free them from the blades. • Remove the jug, pour away the water and rinse in fresh running water. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with fresh water. • Alternatively the jug may be immersed in warm soapy water and cleaned using a long handled brush. Do not touch the blades when cleaning. INSTRUCTION MANUAL BLENDER C12BW11 • Wash the lid and stopper separately in warm soapy water, rinse and allow to dry. The jug body should be handled carefully. The jug contains sharp blades do not leave the jug immersed in water for any longer than necessary to clean it or you may affect the operating performance of the blender. • DO NOT wash the jug or attachments in a dishwasher. Cleaning the base: • Ensure the blender is switched off and unplugged from the mains socket. • Wipe the outer surface of the base with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring creams. 1. Hold the lid. 2. Turn the stopper slowly anti-clockwise to free it and then lift it out. 3. Gradually feed pieces of food or liquids into the jug. 4. Fit the stopper back when you have finished. • Do not run the appliance continuously for more than 3 minutes. After a full 3 minute cycle allow the blender to rest for another 5 minutes before using it again. • Never blend very hot liquids in the blender. This is dangerous as the contents may erupt. • If you spill liquid on the base immediately switch off and wipe dry. Never immerse the base in water when cleaning. S TO R AG E After all the components have been washed and dried, re-assemble the blender and store it out of direct sunlight and out of the reach of children. Hold the jug by the handle and carefully turn it clockwise (towards you) to release it. (This may be easier with one hand on the base and one hand holding the jug handle). 3. To pour out the contents, rotate the lid of the jug clockwise to free it and then lift off the lid. Pour or spoon out the contents carefully. 4. Unplug the blender from the mains socket. Remove all items from the packaging. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it please do so according to any local regulations. Place the lid on the top of the jug and turn the lid anti-clockwise. If the lid is properly secured, you will hear a “click” sound. P R O D U C T OVE R V IE W F IT TIN G THE STO P P E R Stopper / Measuring Cup The stopper has an integral measuring cup useful for measuring small amounts of ingredients. Safety Lid Place the stopper in the slots in the lid and turn clockwise to lock. Measuring Scale To avoid splashing, always operate the blender with the stopper firmly in place. Blender Jug Handle Blade Assembly Base Unit F IT TIN G THE J UG TO THE BA SE UN IT Place the jug on the base as shown. The jug will fit only one way round. Align the arrow to unlock position and turn the jug anti-clockwise to lock. To unlock, turn the jug clockwise. If the jug is not properly fitted to the base the blender will not start. Speed Selector F IR S T T IM E U SE 1250 1000 1. Before using your blender for the first time, wash the jug, blade assembly, lid and stopper. Rinse throughly and dry. 800 600 400 2. Place the base unit on a stable surface, free from heat and moisture and within easy reach of a mains socket. The mains cable should not be taut. unlock P R E PA R IN G A N D F IL L IN G THE IN GRE DIE N TS lock 1. Cut the ingredients into 25mm (1”) cubes before placing them into the jug. If the food is very solid or dry, cut the pieces into smaller cubes. 2. Fill the blender jug with the ingredients. 3. Do not overfill the jug. The maximum capacity is 1250 ml, but we suggest you do not exceed 900 ml. If you are preparing a large quantity use several smaller batches. 4. If the ingredients are very dry, put some liquid into the jug. You should never try to reduce dry ingredients in the blender.
