The AT112 Attuned Top is a 2-way loudspeaker for medium to short distance coverage. Multi-box arrays of vertical cabinets provide medium distance coverage while individual boxes flown horizontally give short distance coverage. It’s a simple to use, easy to set up, attractive, compact array cabinet with a smooth sound and natural musical character. The AT112 is intended to accompany the SSP series subwoofers and to supply a correctly balanced level of mid and high frequencies when the boxes are used as a system. The cabinet features a direct-radiating 12” high-efficiency neodymium magnet woofer and a 1.4” exit compression driver loaded on a 30 by 80 degree Tractrix-flare horn. With the cabinet standing vertically, the horn has a horizontal coverage of 30 degrees. The cabinet is built as a trapezoid with 15-degree side-angles, making a tight-packed array of adjacent cabinets possible with minimal off-axis interference. The 30-degree coverage per box allows arrays to be configured in 30degree increments for anywhere from 30 to 360 degrees of horizontal coverage. The 12” low frequency driver minimizes the cabinet frontal area while delivering the best possible speed and impact in the mid-bass and midrange frequencies. Thanks to the narrow frontal area, the LF drivers couple coherently when multiple cabinets are arrayed, providing powerful mid-bass impact from a small box. The corresponding subwoofer systems can serve as transport dollies for the AT112 tops, making load-in and set-up fast and easy. The coverage pattern makes the cabinet particularly versatile and practical because it can be flown horizontally with coverage of 80 degrees horizontal by 30 degrees vertical, ideal for low-profile placement on a ceiling, above a dance floor or as a near-field fill. At only ~55 lbs it is particularly well suited to applications where light weight is required. One-person set-up of a concert system is not only possible; it’s realistic. When combined with powered subwoofers like the SSP218, SSP118 or SSP115, the result is a very cost effective, practical, portable high fidelity 3-way active loudspeaker system.
