WHICH SHREDDER IS RIGHT FOR YOUR BUSINESS? Whether you’re looking to protect your business against identity theft, comply with destruction legislation or just clear up office clutter, Staples products offer premium quality shredders, at the right price point for your business.
A few questions will help narrow the options: What volumes will you shred? Staples Personal shredders: Perfect for occasional use or up to 100 pages daily. Staples ProfessionalSeries shredders: Up to 500 sheets daily. Staples CommercialGrade shredders: Larger volumes for multi-users environments.
How much security do you need for shredding? There are 3 types of general shredding cuts. Strip cut: Provides a basic security for general office documents. This is the lowest level of security, but offers more protection than tossing items into the garbage. Cross-Cut: Provides an additional level of security creating a smaller cut to the paper. On average providing between 350-400 shreds per 8 1/2x11 sheet. Micro-Cut: Currently offers one of the highest levels of security. Creating on average 1,500-2,000 shreds per 8 1/2x11 sheet.
What types of other materials do you need to shred? Do you have to get rid of Paperclips, staples, CD/DVD’s, Credit Cards? Be sure to check that the capabilities of the shredder fit your needs.
Other considerations: Sheet count: Number of pages that can be shred at one time. Bin size: How many sheets can be held in the waste area. Type of bin: Pull out bins make emptying process easier. Continuous runtime: How long can you shred before the shredder requires a cool down period.
