It is a very small box designed for mobile use and powered by rechargable batteries or via an AC mains power adapter. It contains all hard- and software required to decode and trace the ISDN D-channel protocol. - Used by Telecom’s or terminal supplier’s support technicians for troubleshooting during installation and setup of ISDN terminal equipment. - RJ45 sockets are provided for the connection to the S-bus and the ISDN terminal equipment. To upload and display the trace information the serial port of the PC has to be connected to the V.24/RS232 interface of the D-MON 02 via a 9-pin D-sub connector. Communication via the COM port is independent of make or model of the PC. Laboratory engineering Manufacturer’s ISDN lab engineers benefit from it as an easy to use debug tool for Layer 2 and Layer 3 development. It provides extensive routine diagnostics for the most efficient use of the other highly sophisticated and expensive protocol testing equipment or even eliminate the needs of it. Operation of the unit is possible using any terminal emulation software. The D-MON 02 is controlled using simple commands which do not require any ISDN protocol experience. For enhanced operation conveniences the PC software WIN-D-MON is available to use the D-MON 02 as an application in windows (future option).
