Disconnect floppy drive power cable and the front panel USB and front panel ribbon cables as shown. Note: It is not necessary to disconnect the server board ends of these cables.
Notes: 1. Six user-supplied hard disk drives are shown for clarity. 2. Six SATA cables are factory-connected to the server board. Cable color may vary. Attach cables to installed hard disk drives using the matching numbers shown in the graphic. Failure to correctly connect cables may result in data loss. 3. Each installed hard disk drive must have power cable connected by the user. 4. Cable routing is approximate and should not restrict system air flow. Use cable ties as necessary.

Remove the four screws securing the hard drive bracket to the chassis. Then remove the hard drive bracket.

Finishing Up
Before installing your operating system, you must finish your system installation and connect back panel I/O connectors and AC power. 1. Make sure you have replaced the system cover. 2. Install Software • BIOS, Drivers, and Operating System Install
A. Confirm BIOS Version: Look on the Server/System Management screen in the
BIOS Setup Utility to determine the installed BIOS version. Compare this to the versions at: http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s5000vsa If new versions are available, update the BIOS on your server. See the User Guide on the Intel® Server Deployment Toolkit 2.0 CD for update instructions.
B. Configure your RAID Controller: Use the instructions provided with the RAID controller.
