12 Fiber MPO MultiMode Trunk Cables
The 12 fiber MPO trunk cables are designed for data center solutions supporting the topologies as specified in the data center standards EN50173-5, ISO/IEC 24764 and TIA-942. The MPO system supports data center applications such as 10-40-100 Gigabit Ethernet, 4-8-16G Fibre Channel or InfiniBand. 12 fiber MPO female/female trunk cables are used to connect 12 fiber (10G) MPO/LC-SC cassettes. MPO trunk cables allow for either crossconnections or inter-connections to the equipment. When the MPO cable is connected with MPO couplers, one of the MPO connectors must have pins. The MPO trunk cables are constructed from loose tube, gel-filled indoor/outdoor rated cable. The transition at each end to 3.2mm round MPO tails is protected with an over-molded fan-out with free floating fiber technology. On both sides of the MPO connector, the tails are protected with a clear plastic protection sleeve. The sleeve is closed with a re-usable tie-wrap which later can be used as a strain relief for the MPO trunk to the panel or cabinet at the over-molded fan-out. For placing/pulling the trunks over longer lengths, a re-usable IP67 protection/pulling kit can be ordered separately. MPO trunk cables are available with a 12, 24 and 48 fibers.

Specification (The following content can be copied and pasted directly into tender response documents. Choose your preferred option from content inside [x,y,z].) The MPO trunk will be [1x12 – 2x12(24) – 4x12(48)] fiber. The optical cable used is an OM3 LSZH, indoor/outdoor, loose tube, [12 – 24 - 48] fiber, bend insensitive fiber with a diameter of [6.4 +/- 0.4mm (for 12 fiber), 7.5 +/- 0.4mm (for 24fiber), 11.5 +/- 0.4mm (for 48fiber]. The outer jacket color is aqua with the standard AMP NETCONNECT printing. At both ends of the MPO trunk, the transition from the round cable to the [1, 2 or 4] round MPO tails [60cm for the 12 and 24 fiber trunks and 2x60 +2x 70cm for the 48 fiber trunks] is achieved via an over-molded Midi Fan-out that includes the option for strain relief of the trunk using a tie-wrap. If the cable length “L” is ≤50m, the MPO-trunk will be bundled with hook & eye style cable ties and packed in a box. For length “L” >50m, the trunk will be delivered on a reel to facilitate the installation of these trunks. The MPO tails are protected on both sides with a clear plastic protection sleeve which can be closed with a re-usable tie wrap. The re-usable tie-wrap can be used as strain relief on the MPO trunk to the panel or cabinet. For placing/pulling the trunks over longer lengths, a re-usable IP67 protection/ pulling kit can be ordered separately.
