AMP CO Plus Splitter Insert for Gigabit Ethernet and ISDN The AMP CO Plus Splitter Insert for Gigabit Ethernet and ISDN allows both Gigabit Ethernet and ISDN to use the same four pair cable. This is the first time that sheath sharing has been possible with Gigabit Ethernet services. This insert makes redundant the need to run two cables to each desk when only a workstation and ISDN telephone connection is required. The splitter insert presents two RJ45 connectors to its front face, one for each service; these allow direct connection to a Gigabit Ethernet enabled workstation and an ISDN phone. The technology is well established and is used in a wide range of industries and products. The insert is part of a new series of smart inserts such as Power over Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet switches and inserts with filter technology. These inserts will allow the installed cables to be used in a flexible and cost effective manner. The insert can be used with any installed cables higher than Cat. 5e on the edge connector.
Specification The Gigabit Ethernet interface is a full IEEE 802.3-2005 compliant port with speed capable of 10, 100, and 1000 Mb/s and so this insert will provide enough bandwidth for data intensive applications. The ISDN port is a 4 wire s-bus basic rate interface (BRI) including power feeding. An AMP CO Plus Splitter insert is needed at each end of the link where a combination of Gigabit Ethernet and ISDN is required. The technique used is similar to that used in DSL transmission and is based on the fact that each service uses a different frequency with a multiplexer/demultiplexer at each end to combine and split the signals.

AMP CO Plus Splitter Insert for Gigabit Ethernet and ISDN The ACO Plus splitter is available in White, Black and Almond. The ISDN port of the ACO splitter is a 4 wire S-bus basic rate interface (BRI) including power feeding. The insert may function on other interfaces, but such use cannot be advised or guaranteed by CommScope. CommScope cannot be held responsible for damage or lack of functionality to either the ACO splitter or connected equipment if used with other interfaces. To comply with safety standards the ISDN connector of this module must be maintained at SELV potential. Do not connect it to any telecom network classed as TNV-1,-2,-3 or to any outside cable. Only connect to equipment that maintains its relevant port at SELV voltages (where SELV is defined by EN 60950).
