Prisma II™ 1310 nm Transmitters Description
The Prisma II™ optical network is an advanced transmission system designed to optimize network architectures and increase reliability, scalability, and cost effectiveness. The 1310 nm Transmitters are designed to operate over a wide range of optical output powers and loss budgets, delivering both analog and digital signals. Microprocessor control allows ease of installation and flexibility of application. The transmitter design includes an array of contemporary capabilities including: low RF input level, broadcast and new media RF inputs, and three levels (Standard, XL and XLS) of performance.

Notes: 1. At specified RF input level. Specifications are for unmodulated (CW) carriers. 2. New Media (Input B) requires an RF input level that is greater than the RF input to Broadcast (Input A). 3. Low Channel Loading is NTSC 78, Pal I HRC 62, PAL B/G 64, PAL D/K 58, CENELEC 42 Analog Channels. 4. High Channel Loading is NTSC 110, PAL I HRC 81, PAL B/G 89, PAL D/K 83 Analog Channels. 5. With 4 NTSC channels T8 – T11 (13, 18, 25, 31 MHz) at 20 dBmV/channel. 6. Activation of digital loading may impact analog performance. Testing of digital loading with 550 MHz of analog video channels and 33, 64 QAM channels (-6 dB from video) to 750 MHz indicates a typical CNR degradation of less than 0.5 dB. 7. T8 – T11 (13, 18, 25, 31 MHz) 8. Recommended for use only in non-condensing environments. 9. Loss budget consists of 10 dB of single mode fiber optic cable (glass loss) and 6 dB of nondispersive passive loss. 10. C/N is measured with all 4 carriers on. There will be approximately 2 dB degradation in C/N when measurement is made with a single carrier. Unless otherwise noted, specifications are guaranteed minimum performance and are based on measurements made in accordance with NCTA Practices for Measurements made on Cable Television Systems using standard frequency assignments and are referenced to the ambient air temperature at the inlet to the Prisma II chassis.
