R2D4 STM/LVDS Data Capture High Speed Communications Capture using PCI Express R2D4 PCIe data capture card is a high-speed data acquisition card for capturing and creating communications and high-speed telemetry data up to 622 Mbps on a standard pc platform. . R2D4 uses advanced high speed processing techniques and the Linux operating system to ensure a reliable data transfer system can be implemented in a low-cost platform. STM-4 and STM-1 interfaces are provided for direct optical coupling together with a high-speed serial LVDS interface. Optional external interfaces allow the connection of multiple E1/T1 data streams . In LVDS mode, Inputs and Outputs are contained on the same card allowing it to be used as both a bypass and intercept device. The LVDS mode also features integrated synthesised clock source and the ability to synchronise with external sources. Data can be captured as raw, unaltered form or entry time-stamped for greater auditability and data security. In STM mode the card automatically discovers the contents of a STM-1 or STM-4 stream, and provides access to all virtual container levels. Where appropriate, VC decoding is carried out and VC contents passed through in an easily accessible form.Data can thus be selected from any or all VC levels for subsequent processing. Optical buffers are provided to route input to output allowing the card to be bypassed or to simultaneously intercept in a non-intrusive mode. In order to provide the greatest user and programmer flexibility, configurable control includes clock generation, latency buffer control and DMA transfer configuration. This flexibility of control makes the card very versatile for many differing applications. The card supports single and dual-stream data capture of STM-1 in variants that can be field-upgraded. The card is supplied with a GPL-licensed source code driver for Linux operating systems (Kernel 2.6.18 onwards) . High-speed DMA transfer and shared memory mapping ensure highest speed data throughput.
