VDS24000 Series
VDS24010 Viewer-End Efficient Integrated Solution Collecting video signal and sending DC power over coaxial cable are accomplished with level best quality Introduction The function of Link power protection is part of power supply inside the Local module unit. Due to the Link power protection, DC power will not be sent to the Remote unit until all connections are properly connected. An immediate shut down will occur to protect the equipments when causing accident such as open, short, overload, etc. of the link coaxial cable. The system will resume connection automatically when everything is in proper status again.
VDS24010 Viewer-End, is the front-end like in surveillance system as a vital equipment from control room connecting to outside. With the structure of 19inch rack mount*, it is suitable to be installed in various surveillance systems for collecting video signals and sending out DC power. Options of 4, 8 or 9 modules can be arranged inside the Viewer-End. On the module, there are 2 BNC sockets for Link-in and Video-out, so called Local unit module. * The height of VDS24010 is 1U (1.75")
Outside equipment of VDS24010 is Remote unit, also called Sender unit. There are one to nine Local unit modules in a rack at users' options, cooperate with one to nine VDS24100 Remote units in camera site. The Remote unit is closely related with VDS24010 Viewer-End. Only the type of Remote unit of VDS24000 series can cooperate with the Viewer-End of VDS24010.
Similar to the other VDS series products, VDS24010 can send DC power from the Local unit to the Remote unit, enabling the surveillance system becomes more reliable and effective. Do not worry if an electrical outlet is accessible at the remote site. Do not have to bother about the availability of power supply at the remote site or concern about a blackout if the system has armed with UPS (uninterrupted power supply).
Local unit module is the main and vital component in VDS24010. Each module is responsible for the signal process at the Remote unit. The Link-in receives signal from the Remote unit and then output video signal to the surveillance system through the BNC socket. At the same time, the DC power supply inside the module is being sent backward to the Remote unit from the Link-in socket.
By using inter-carrier technology, the quality of receiving video from the remote site is stable and reliable. There will be great reduction in video interference, signal lost, hum and twist. The result is just like installing a nearby camera. The problem of degradation in traditional transmission method will be solved.

Introduction
(Continued)
Because of using Switching Mode to send DC power, the efficiency is high, the power consumption of link coaxial cable becomes lower and the sending distance becomes longer. The actual value of DC power that sending out from VDS24010 is similar to the total power requirement for Remote unit, CCTV camera and coaxial cable power consumption. As the whole VDS24010 possesses capacity of 300W, it is capable to cover various types of Sender units.
VDS can protect the link coaxial cable between the connection of Remote unit and Local unit. As coaxial cable is installed in outside exposing area and scattering the whole district in wide extension, naturally it becomes easily affected by lighting induced current and then damages the Remote unit and Local unit. Due to this crisis, TVS (transient voltage suppressor) and GDT (glass discharge tube) are installed to protect the equipments from casual damage. Besides self-protection in VDS, it can also protect the CCTV camera as well as the facilities in the control room.
Base on the concept of VDS design, VDS24010 is able to arrange multiple Local unit modules, ready to transmit all signals from different distances to make the surveillance system more effectively with uniform quality. For initial installation, small number of module units can be arranged according to basic requirement (vacant spaces will be covered up with sheet). Additional module units can be added up any time in future requirement.
Sufficient power supply will be sent to the Remote units. DC power supply can be installed according to requirement. One power supply is required for the installation of 4 Local units and below. For 5 Local units and above, two power supplies will be required for the whole systems. Power supply can be added up or taken out depends on the modules quantity of the installation.
Front Panel: (see Fig. 1 and 2 also) Each module has indicating status on the panel, see Fig. 1 and 2, i.e. camera status. Users can check on working status easily from the front panel LED. When turning on the system, Red light will be shown on the LED for initial link at the first three seconds. When the LED is steady at Green light, that means the system is on and in normal condition. When Yellow light occurs, it means that the video is lost, Link-in socket and Video-out socket are malfunction. Furthermore, problems in camera, Local unit module as well as Video-out will show Yellow light as well. Flashing Red means the link is lost, whereas Slow flashing indicates the link is once lost. The Slow flashing can be stopped by pressing the Terminate Flash.
Fig. 2 Picture of Front Panel Back Panel: (see Fig. 3 also) There are 18 BNC sockets on the back panel. By watching the LED alongside the connectors, service engineer can know the link status of the system easily, refer to Fig. 6, Yellow light indicates the initial link when turning on the system. During normal operation, Green light will be shown on the LED. When flashing Red happens, it means the link has failed.

Rack (the main frame): (see Fig. 4 also) 4, 8 or 9 Local unit modules can be installed inside a 19-inch rack mount, or any number of modules but maximum 9 units For 4 modules and below, one power supply is enough. For 5 modules and above, two power supplies will be required for the whole systems 300W/+36V Sufficient DC power supply will be sent to the Remote units More modules can be added up any time in case of future requirement
