MUlTIPLE POWER TRA NSFORM ERS l he Dl X/A LX Rac k supp lies low vo ltage AC pawe r, RS-232C/ D mating con necto rs, and t ele ph one line (onnect ions to each modem cardoM ultiple powe r t ransf ormers provide fa ult tolerance to powe r transf orme r fa i lures w it hin the rack. Each power transfo rmer supp li es powe r to two modem ca rds within t he rack. In the event a power transforme r f ails on Jy two modem cards w ill be inope rable, the rema ining six modems w ill continue to f unction. A powe r ON /OFF switch is access ible from t he rack frant pan el and a pr im ary f use protects th e rack from an elect rical short circuito In ad ditio n, t he power t ransf orm er's second ary w indings are protected by pico-fuses located on t he rac k-m ount modem cards. The p ower t ransfo rmer assemb ly is modular and is removable from the fro nt of the enclosu re. An optiona l - 48 VOC powe r supply is ava ilab te fo r Teko Central Office environm ents. Addi t ion ally, 22 0 VAC operation is avai lab le for intern ational app licati ons. Rac k adapte rs allow mounti ng in a standard 23" telephone equipme nt cab inet. The rack occup ies 10.5 inches of verti ca l ca bi net spaci ng. Bot h t he t op and b ottom of t he enctos ure are slotted fo r proper ve ntilat ion. A f ront p anel locking bar secures t he installed modems. ACCO MM ODATES LEASED-U NE AN O DIA L-UP TERMINATIONS Both dial-u p and leased-line con necti ons are accom modat ed by t h e OLX/ALX Rack Enct os ure. Th e st andard rack configurati on supports two Am phe nol-type 25-pair co nnectors. The con nect or pinouts are simi lar to t hose offe red bya USOC RJ-26X st yle te rminat ion. One con necto r is provided fo r diat -up (an d di al backup) access while t he other is avai labt e f or pr ivate line te rmi nations. l he dial-up connector acco m modates Tip and Ring, PR and PC, and MI and M IC connect ions. For dial-u p use the conf iguration is compati b le w ith most dial-up security ca llback systems. lhe teased- tine connector accommodates transmit and receive pa irs as well as t he dial b ackup receive tine f or 2-c all dial appl ic ations. OPTI ON CA RO S PROVIDE MO DULAR TELE PHON E UNE TER M INATI ONS For ftexibility, the OLX/ALX Rack is ava il able with t wo option ca rds fo r t ermin ation of t elephone circuits. Both the teased and dial-u p m ultiline te rmination con nect ors can be broken ou t ;nt o individual line terminations. lhe Dial U ne Modular Jack Card breaks out the dial-up connector into eight individ uat RJ-45 type, 8-pin connector jacks, wi t h a ninth 6-p in jack provided for a test line. l he leased Une Breakout Ca rd breaks out the teased-line connect or into 4-wi re, sc rewdown, barrier st rips fo r t he leased-line co nnection, and eight 6-pin modu ta r j acks for t he rece ive l ine dial bac k-up connections. A ninth 6-pin jack is atso provided for a second t est line (used fo r rece ive data in a 2-ca ll di at backu p mode). In addition, a test capabitity is provided to all ow a test lin e(s) to be ro uted to one of any of t he eig ht modems insta l led in the rack . l he test tines are spa re te lep hone lines connected into the rac k encl osu re. Upon suspicion of a fautty tine, a use r may rou te t he test tines to the ai ling ci rcui t t o verify t he lin e faiture, and to all ow cont in ued com m unication unt il t he defective l in e is rep aired.
