Dataloggers D SERIES
Dataloggers for Industrial Uses Affordable Portable and Benchtop Models
For less demanding industrial applications we offer the D220, D820, D900 and D7000 series dataloggers. With flexible and isolated analog and pulse / logic inputs, these unique instruments pack a lot of power into amazingly small and inexpensive chassis.
Key Features
The D7000 is the top model in this series, with modular signal conditioners and incredible expandability. The D900 is the fastest among the SMALL models, which include the D900, D820 and D220. It features 8 high speed channels.
n n Stand-alone operation
The D820 features 20 isolated analog inputs - and you can add expansion terminals to increase your channel count in blocks of 20 ... all the way up to 200 channels. The D220 is the smallest and least expensive within the series, with 10 isolated analog input channels and sample rates up to 100 S/s/ch (when storing to RAM). All four excellent models feature the same easy user interface, offer a built-in color display, and Windows software for connection to your computer.

Dataloggers D series
D7000 Overview
The D7000 is a powerful “building block data acquisition system.” The unique design is expandable from a single input module to 10 of them - each up to 10 channels to create a 100 channel system. In addition you can have the solid state drive module and pulse/logic module, for really 12 modules in all. Better yet you can connect up to five D7000s together with the SYNC cables and multiply your channel count 500%! n n Expandable from 4 to 100 channels - up to 10 analog input modules can be added even when the solid state HDD and pulse/logic modules are added n n Real ISOLATED inputs with 16-bit resolution n n Modules for voltage, high speed voltage, multi-type inputs, pulse/logic inputs, and more n n Alarm outputs and sync ports standard n n Removable display - locate it meters away via simple CAT6 cable (or have no display at all) n n Remote control via USB or ethernet - both are included n n Includes Windows software for remote control and data transfer/conversion
ALARM module (included)

Up to 10 modules can be installed (any combination is possible)
SSD solid state drive (optional - 64 GB)
Mainframe of the D7000 (display is optional and removable)
h t t p://www.de wame rica.com/Produ cts/ Da ta l oggers/
D7000 Optional / Removable Display Even the display is modular - you can remove it completely, or locate it many feet away using a CAT5 cable. In fact, the display is an option ordered separately from the mainframe. If you have multiple systems synched together you may only want one display, for example.
D7000 Expansion
Sync up to 5 Systems Directly When you connect the sync cables from one D700 to the next, the first one automatically becomes the master. Connect up to four slave units and make a system with up to 560 channels. Triggering will be automatically passed from the master to all of the slaves, for truly synchronized measurement. A computer can be added, but it is not necessary - the master D700 can control all of the slaves. In this mode, only one D7-DISP display is needed!
Network up to 10 Systems In this case, the SYNC cables are not used - perhaps because the systems are too far apart from each other, or because you want to use more than 5 systems. Simply connect them all to the same computer via ethernet, using a switch or hub, and the standard Windows software will control up to ten D7000 systems, allowing more than 1000 channels to be acquired on the computer!

Dataloggers D SERIES
If you have the display, you can mount it dirctly onto the mainframe ... or remove it and connect it via a CAT5 ethernet cable. In this way you can use the screen from many feet away, and everything comes through the CAT5 cable: the display image, touchscreen interface, and power for the screen and its backlight. This is a great convenience.
D7000 Modules
Dataloggers D series
You can connect up to 10 input modules to each D7000 mainframe. In addition to those user-selectable modules, the ALARM output module is standard with the mainframe. Then you can add the SSD module, which provides a 64 GB solid state hard drive. But then you can STILL add 10 more modules! Add any combination of the modules shown below:

Excluding the function or SSD module The input/output cable B-513 is required for connecting the signal. The auto-balance signal and the busy signal output are used in the DCB strain module The alarm signals are output on the terminal block attached to the mainframe as a standard accessory Available on the Logic/Pulse module Method of detection: Voltage/Temp module: the alarm is detected in the sample interval when the interval is shorter than 5 seconds. The alarm is detected every 5 seconds when the sample interval is longer than 5 seconds Other modules: the alarm is detected every 1 ms when the sample interval is shorter than 1 ms. The alarm is detected in the sample interval when the sampling interval is longer than 5 seconds. The alarm is detected in the sample interval when the sample interval is set between 2 ms and 5 seconds. The alarm is detected every 5 seconds when the sample interval is lonter than 5 seconds. Available when the captured data is saved ot the built-in RAM The result of real-time calculation is displayed in the digital display mode When the captured data desintation is set to the built-in RAM, the captured data is not maintained atter a power failure. The built-in flash or an SD memory card may be damaged by a power failure if it is writing data at the time. The file is closed automatically every minute during data capture as a protection method. The USB drive mode is activated via a hard switch on the mainframe. SD memory cards are not included - please provide them separately. When data capture destination is anything other than the built-in RAM, 1/3 of the available space on the device is reserved when data capture is begun, and the sample rate is limited to 100 S/s. The sync cable (B-559) is required when this function is used. When systems are synchronized, the Windows Software is required to be used. SP2 or higher service pack must be installed Data that is being captured to either the built-in RAM or SSD cannot also be saved to the PC in real time, but it can be transferred after data capture is complete. Most operations can be selected by both the touchscreen and the keys When the display modules is mounted at an angle using the included bracket, the CAT5 ethernet cable must be used to connect it to the mainframe. The sample rate of the D7000 is limited to the fastest sample rate of the slowest module that is connected to the system.

8 Fast Input Channels The inputs are simultaneously sampled with 16-bit A/D converters. You can set the sample rate anywhere from 1 S/minute/ch to 100 kS/s/ch (10 µs interval) when capturing to the internal RAM. Or you can select to capture to a USB stick that you plug in, at rates from 1 S/minute/ch to 1 kS/s/ch (1 ms interval). Most signals are input via the insulated BNC connectors, while the thermocouples are connected via the M3 screw terminal connectors. Thermocouple cables diameters up to 0.32 can be used.
Great GUI / Display The D900 features a brilliant 5.7” diagonal color display that serves as the user interface. Wide Range of Sample Rates and Durations Long-term data can be captured directly to built-in 256-MB flash memory or to an external USB memory stick at sampling intervals of from 1 ms to 1 min. For high-speed sampling at intervals faster than 1 ms, choose the internal RAM and you can sample as fast as 100 kS/s/ch! That’s a 10 µs sample interval, suitable for very high speed data. Not very many data loggers in the world can sample this fast! Sampling Interval (Sample Rate)

Press the MENU button, then set your INPUT TYPE for each channel independently. Or use the AL channel and set ALL of the channels to be the same with one selection!
High speed sampling - even during temperature measurement Even when you’re recording temperature channels, you can use the highest recording speeds. This is not possible on the slower models D820 and D220. But there are no limitations with the D900: it’s built for speed, regardless of the input type.
Supports USB memory devices, Easy connection to PC via USB or Ethernet
When recording VOLTAGE you can set the range for each channel independently from the selections shown above.
Captured data can be saved directly to USB memory sticks - just plug one in, and then select it as your capture destination. In addition, you can connect your D900 to your Windows computer via a standard USB cable - and even transfer data in real-time! The D900 can even emulate an external USB drive for fast and convenient transfer of large data files to your PC. If you choose to connect via ethernet, you can monitor your data using a browser via the standard web server function. Open up a browser and point it to the IP address of the D900 - and you’re in business, remotely controlling and monitoring the unit from your desktop easier than ever before.
When recording thermocouples, you can select from among the sensor types shown above.

Expandable from 20 to 200 Channels The standard D820 includes a terminal block on its top surface with 20 sets of inputs. However, you can replace this block with the B-537 expansion terminal, and then daisy-chain the standard block, plus up to TEN MORE blocks (option B-538) to expand the D820 from 20 channels to 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180 or even 200 channels! When you are using the included Windows remote control software, you can control and manage up to 500 channels or ten D820 systems (whichever comes first). So for example, you could remotely control five D820s with 80 channels each PLUS five more D820s with 20 channels each. As long as the channel count doesn’t exceed 500, and the D820 unit count doesn’t exceed ten, any combination is possible.
Great GUI / Display The D820 features a bright clear 5.7” color TFT monitor (VGA: 640 x 480 dots). Makes it easy to read data in waveform or digital form and to check your measurement parameter settings. You can show your data in these formats: n n Waveforms + digital values n n Enlarged waveforms n n Digital values + calculation results n n Past and present data SPLIT SCREEN display Buttons to the right of the screen complete the GUI, which is no more complicated to operate than the average mobile phone. The 2GB Flash Memory enables secure long term data measurement without using an external storage device. Data is retained even when power is turned off because flash memory is used. Also supports popular USB memory sticks for external storage. The D820 saves measured data directly to USB memory sticks. USB memory sticks can be replaced during measurement without data loss.

Note: for humidty measurements, the 0-1V range and scaling functions are used to display your results directly in % RH. Sampling rate limitations are same as those for voltage measurement. Notes: *3 Estimate of recording times are approximate *4 The sample rate is limited by the number of channels in use. 10 ms = 1 channel; 50 ms = 5 channels, etc. *5 Standard USB memory devices without high-end functions such as fingerprint recognition are required
Ring memory function This is the so-called “black box” mode, where the memory is a circular buffer that stores the most recent information. You can activate this mode when either internal memory or external memory is used. Captured data size in ring memory mode is limited to 1/3 of available memory.
It’s Alarming! The D820 features FOUR alarm outputs, which you can define to watch for various conditions being met. When it happens, the system will output the alarm, which you can connect to another system to play a sound, or activate a relay, etc. Note - Accessing the alarm signals requires the optional B-513 cable.
Isolated for your protection... The D820’s isolated input system ensures that your important signals are not corrupted by ground loops or crosstalk from other channels. Isolation is the best possible way to eliminating wiring and grounding concerns. The D820s multi-type inputs are suitable for voltage, temperature, humidity, pulse, and logic signals, enabling combined measurements of different phenomena like temperature/humidity and voltage.
Supports USB memory devices, Easy connection to PC via USB or Ethernet Captured data can be saved directly to USB memory sticks - just plug one in, and then select it as your capture destination. In addition, you can connect your D820 to your Windows computer via a standard USB cable - and even transfer data in real-time! The D820 can even emulate an external USB drive for fast and convenient transfer of large data files to your PC. If you choose to connect via ethernet, you can monitor your data using a browser via the standard web server function, or use FTP client-server functionality. NTP (network time protocol) is also supported when the D820 is connected to the LAN via the Ethernet port.

Or you can select to capture to a USB stick that you plug in, at rates from 1 S/minute/ch to 1 kS/s/ch (1 ms interval). Most signals are input via the insulated BNC connectors, while the thermocouples are connected via the M3 screw terminal connectors. Thermocouple cables diameters up to 0.32 can be used.
n n X-Y graph Buttons to the right of the screen complete the GUI, which is no more complicated to operate than the average mobile phone. You can run the display at high speeds if needed: up to 10 ms/division. At the other extreme you can run the display as slowly as 24 hours/division! The free running display allows you to monitor your data right on the screen, even when you’re not recording it. And because waveforms are displayed on each setup screen, you can even change your settings while viewing the data.
