Windows CE 5.0 with flexible development environment
Adopting a 1700mAh high capacity Li-ion battery which can provide up to 8 hours operating time, GT-1W series can accommodate 2 batteries realising a total power of 3400mAh operating up to 16 hours. The GT-1W series built in power management system will give warnings in case the battery compartment cover is opened or the battery is running out of charge.
Adapting a 3.7 inch transflective screen to GT-1W series, even under direct sun light, data is clearly viewed on the display. The keyboard is designed with big keys allowing for an easy keyboard input. The keys are backlight illuminated allowing data entry in dim light conditions. Programmable keys are provided offering infinite possibilities to the developed applications.
GT-1W series is endowed by the widely accepted Windows CE 5.0. This provides a superior development environment for easy custom made software applications. MS eMbedded Visual C++, and MS Visual Studio 2005 can be used to develop the application software. A dedicated SDK for the development is also available.

4) Two modes of operation
IP-1 is a unique security solution from Canon that uses the Canon original encrypted IrDA protocol between the IP-1 device and the IrDA port of the GT-1W series. Only the person who possesses the authenticated IP-1 device can activate the designated GT-1W series device.
A User Mode in which the designated application can run, the user cannot alter the GT-1W series system settings which protects the system from potential threats that can cause instability to the system. A protected Administration mode, only the authenticated system admins can install or change the GT-1W series system settings.
2) Device password protection Passwords are encrypted using the Canon original encryption format and stored in the non accessed area. Accordingly even in case of a lost/stolen device, passwords cannot be hacked from the device. Multiple passwords can be set, depending on the user environment and the risk which the terminal might have. 3) Canon Encrypted Data Format

Canon BP-80 Wireless Printer (Option)
Activating the Data Storage Encryption, CF and MiniSD storage cards can be secured by formatting them using the Canon original data format. When data is written, it is encrypted so no other device other than the secured GT-1W series device can read the storage cards. Using this encryption method, storage cards are fully protected in case of a lost/stolen device.
