APPLICATIONS Modern chiller units for domestic and commercial air conditioning or for industrial applications, require the control of many different conditions to guarantee that units work correctly. Temperature, pressure and humidity must be kept under strict control using reliable devices, that while sophisticated, are also simple to manage and easily programmable depending on their particular application. Given their flexibility, Dixell's wide range of controllers can be used for various applications that utilise chiller units, such as air conditioning of: homes, hotels, museums, supermarkets, large shopping centres and work places like ships or chemical industries where the conditions are very difficult.

Thanks to its great depth of experience, Dixell offers an extensive range of controllers that were developed both for compressed air applications and air conditioning. Dixell offers specific controllers for dryers, simple monocompressor/circuit chillers, and also units with several circuits with various compressors in each circuit; with different working conditions like heat pumps, free cooling, total or partial heat recovery.

GEOTHERMAL Besides solar energy, wind power and biomass combustion, there is another inexhaustible energy source that is increasingly used: geothermal. These plants with heat pumps are very efficient, very environmentally friendly and they obtain a better performance compared with all the other heating and cooling systems. The new programmable controller family (iPro series) is used in chiller, heat pump and geothermal heat pump applications. Thanks to excellent modularity/flexibility, they can also communicate with plants incorporating boilers, solar panel, radiant systems, home automation systems and renewable sources. These controllers provide a high level of technology for ease of external connectivity and programmability (according to the PLC logic) providing simple answers to every application's needs, while ensuring a complete local or remote check.

ISAGRAF® In order to create programs that will be uploaded into the iPro series Dixell has selected ISaGRAF®; a software environment that enables you to create local or distributed control systems. ISaGRAF® offers a combination of a highly portable, robust management engine (Virtual Machine) and an intuitive application development environment (Workbench). The output of the development environment is selectable as either portable "C" source code or TIC (target independent code). The ISaGRAF® Virtual Machine is a powerful, optimized and very fast control engine that executes the TIC. Virtual Machine and all options are offered ready to use on NT, Linux, CE 3.0 and QNX. Additionally, this control engine has been designed such that the source code of the Virtual Machine is available in a toolkit format, providing portability to any OS on any hardware platform. The Enhanced options for ISaGRAF® transform this outstanding controller into a top of the line PLC, DCS or RTU.

iProCHILL The programmable controllers of iProCHILL family are the Dixell's answer to the requirements of the air-conditioning world; they are suitable for all chillers, heat pump and geothermal heat pump units up to 4 circuits and 16 compressors. These instruments are complete and easy to use, they are the correct solution for the majority of the chiller-machines, including the most complex, and can manage systems such as: air /air - "rooftop" air / water water / water motor-condensing
Thanks to the high connectivity they are indispensable for remote management of the plants helping the job of the "service" centres.

This series, allows management and control of chiller units (with dual circuits "gas and water reversibility" and up to six compressors), heat pumps and chillers with free cooling and with partial or total heat recovery. CONDENSER FAN SPEED MANAGEMENT Whether with the CX or the L format, it's possible to manage, in proportionally, the speed of the condenser fan, without the need to use external devices; the fans are directly connected to the instrument. The loads controlled are: - for CX format: max 500Watt up to 2A; - for L format: max 10O0Watt up to 4A.

SYSTEMS X W E B 3 0 0 D - ALARM AND CONTROLLING WEB SERVER The XWEB300D is a web server for alarm, control and management that works in a Linux environment and presents it's data as a series of Web pages. It allows the user to explore the RS485 network of connected devices through a PC or PDA equipped with standard Browser software (Microsoft Internet Explorer® or Firefox®). Thanks to LAN port, the connection (also via internet) to the XWEB300D is easy and safe and no special software is required. It is possible to see all the variables of a controller and to manage of all parameters and alarms. With Java Applet it is possible to generate comprehensive visual graphs.

In this way the OEM has important information for new models for the improvement of the unit itself.
