It comes with its own external power supply. Please note the following:• Never leave the BNC end of the DE-855 open (unterminated) attached to the UTP cable and make sure it is in a secure position. This may cause serious problems on the network since the DE-855 is not a technically a repeater; so it cannot partition and may send out jam packets across the network. • If you connect from DE-855 to Hub by UTP cable, you don't need to change the pin assignment of wire. If you connect the DE-855 to a network interface card by UTP cable you must cross over one cable end. (see fig 1 & fig 2 on the next page). You can check if the UTP cable link is correct by checking if the link LED is active on both the DE-855 & the network card. • If the Link LED is not lit then there is a definite fault [probably cable].
