DELTA WAVE’S SPECIAL PURPOSE INMARSAT ENCLOSURE (SPIE) TAKE YOUR THRANE 300 or 500 BGAN TERMINAL FURTHER! Delta Wave Communications, Inc, SPIE unit is designed for use with the Thrane and Thrane 300 and 500 Inmarsat BGAN terminals. It is a turnkey integrated package consisting of a rugged Pelican 1450 case, along with the Thrane two-wire RJ11 phone device, as well as 30’ network cable with LAN, RJ11 and power interconnects necessary for quick and easy field deployment. You can now take your Thrane 500 futher! The Thrane and Thrane BGAN unit is secured within the lid of the case, while the integrated leveling mechanism allows one to place the unit in an outdoor environment while the case is kept closed. This configuration allows for convenient placement of BGAN unit while remaining indoors, in most adverse weather conditions.

SETTING UP THE DELTA WAVE “SPIE” UNIT Step 1
Ensure that the BGAN terminal is prepared in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as provided with the equipment. (SIM card inserted properly, battery in place, etc.
Step 2
Ensure that the BGAN terminal is secured on lid retainer, and all connections are properly made as per standard mfg. operating instructions.
Step 3
Remove network interface cable, power adapter and RJ11 phone device (if desired) from Pelican case.
Step 4
Close Pelican case.
Step 5
Unscrew the protector from the bulkhead connector on outside of Pelican case, and plug network interface cable into it.
Step 6
Connect Ethernet Cable, Power Adapter, and RJ11 device (if desired) to network interface box.

Step 7
Crack open the lid of the Pelican case.
Step 8
Power unit ON as per standard mfg. operating instructions.
Step 9
Enter PIN Code using the on product LCD display or your connected equipment (computer, telephone, PDA)
Step 10
Use Launchpad as pointing aid. It may also be possible to crack the lid open of the case to listen to the audio aid to ensure maximum signal potential.
Step 11
Point the BGAN terminal as per standard operating procedure using BGAN Launchpad.. It is possible to crack the lid open which allows one to hear audible tones necessary for optimal signal acquisition.
Fine tune the elevation by pulling the lever outward, away from side of case. Rotating it counter clockwise to loosen the mechanism. Step 12 The lever acts as a spring loaded ratcheting release of the tightening nut that allows the leveling mechanism to be positioned for the correct elevation.
Step 13
The unit is now ready to make and receive phone calls, access the internet, send and receive e-mails, stream video, access you corporate network, etc.
