Beater Descripting Information Descripting Information • Beater General description The Beater is designed and manufactured to clean sunflower’s hull. Nevertheless, after some modifications, it may have other uses; like meal screening or wheat cleaning, for example. For any of these applications seek advice from ALLOCCO S.A. The Beater is an equipment of self-supporting structure, manufactured with two solid headers jointed by distancing bars. It owns an axis with shovels that turn at high speed impacting and waving the material moving the product forward inside the screening drum. This drum, manufactured in two sectors and covered with a drill mesh, is assembled concentrically with the rotor and also turns at differential speed. The mentioned meshes and shovels are wearing elements and can be easily replaced. The set may be assembled with different screens measures according to the material to be processed and to the desired quality requirements in the product to be obtained. Material enters by the superior mouth. Rebound or thick material goes out by the front mouth opposite to the entrance. Fine material is collected through all the length of the drum by a screw that discharges in the inferior mouth in the centre of the tray. Rotor driving is made through belts by a motor. The mentioned driving goes through a gear-box, to move the cage at differential speed. Collecting screw of fines is driven by an independent motor gear-box. The cleaning system is on one side of the cage. It is a drilled pipe (“flute”) with swinging or reciprocating movement by which compressed air is blown, sweeping the whole screen surface. This cleaning is carried out periodically driven by an electric board and pneumatic valves. All screening zone is covered by a hermetic dismantling cover, which helps creating a clean and tidy looking atmosphere in the sector. 2 Descripting Information • Beater Main components • Main body Equipment with self-supporting structure, built with two solids headers (01) jointed together by four spacers (02), two in its upper portion and two in the middle. This structure is reinforced with a V folded 1/8” sheet with semi-cylindrical bed that, besides collecting the extracted dust, ends up joining the headers in their lower portion. An upper cover, of 1/8”folded sheet, completes its casing, making an unified structure resistant to dust losses. The material enters by the superior inlet (03), after passing trough the rotor assembly, the thick material goes out by the front outlet (04) opposite to the entrance and the fine material is collected through all the length of the drum by a screw that discharges in the inferior outlet (05) in the centre of the tray. • Rotor assembly It has a central rotor-shaft (01) mounted over bearings, driven by a motor with belt transmission and with several rows of bars (02) that beats and make the hulls to move forward in the screen. Externally there’s a casing (03) accompanying the screen drum, with drilled mesh in accordance with the product to be sifted. This drum turns at less speed than the rotor shaft and has two sections that makes its re change easier. 3 Descripting Information • Beater • Drive The primary transmission is done by belts (01) that conveys its movement to the central shaft (02) which, on the other end, conveys its rotation to a gear-box (03), that in its turn reduces the speed in order to give the required r.p.m. to the drum (04). • Fines worm assembly The worm (01) is propelled by a motor gear-box (02) and works in the collecting dust area (semi-cylindrical section), carryng the fines to the inferior outlet. • Cleaning system The cleaning system is on one side of the cage. It is a drilled pipe (01) with swinging or reciprocating movement by which compressed air is blown, sweeping the whole screen surface (02). This cleaning is carried out periodically driven by an electric board and pneumatic valves (03). 4 Contact us for more information MAPCA S.A. Av Fillippini 1343 2124 Va.
