Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. 8 Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 9 Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. 10 Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. 11 Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer 12 Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. With Digital BlasterTM, you no longer need to convert to analog. You can now affordably enjoy the quality and convenience of all-digital, crystal-clear pictures. Digital BlasterTM is much more than an SDI-to-DVI-D/RGB-Component Video Adapter – it also has a built-in cable equalizer for the input, and a high-quality Video Processor, which can scale an array of video formats to match the resolution of your displays. 2. Page 8 of 15 Digital BlasterTM Operating Instructions 5.2 Find a convenient and safe location to place your Digital BlasterTM unit. 5.3 Connect the external power supply to your Digital BlasterTM unit. Plug in the external Power Supply to the jack on the back of the unit, and connect the external Power Supply into a wall outlet or power strip. Secure the power supply wire to the back of your unit using the strain relief 5.4 Connect a suitable SDI signal source to the Input of your Digital BlasterTM unit. Follow these guidelines: n BNC female connector on the Back of your Digital BlasterTM unit accepts your SDI source n SDI 270 Mb/s (SD) or 1.485 Gb/s (HD) n Digital BlasterTM supports the following input resolutions: n n 720 x 480i @ 60 Hz n 1280 x 720p @ 60 Hz n 1920 x 1080i @ 60 Hz n 1920 x 1080p @ 24 Hz n 1920 x 1080p @ 24 Hz segmented Built-in SDI HD/SD input cable equalizer, accepts the following cable runs: n Up to 200 feet for HD n Up to 500 feet for SD inputs n 5.5 For long cable runs you must be sure to use a high-quality 75 Ohm BNCBNC cable Connect your display to the Output of your Digital BlasterTM unit. Page 12 of 15 Digital BlasterTM Operating Instructions Menu entry descriptions: Please connect active SDI input, Power and DVI, HDMI (using adaptor) or VGA monitor. •Select button: Pressing select will allow to enter the menu system and will commit al the settings to non volatile memory. •EQ: To enable or disable SDI link cable equalizer system. Long SDI cables require equalization to be ON. •EDGE: Two dimension Edge Enhancement system. Sharpens edges in horizontal and vertical directions. •ASPECT: Three Aspect Ration settings: Full (Anamorphic), 16:9 - Letterbox, 4:3 – pillar box. •H-POSN: Horizontal position of output Horizontal sync in relation to Active Video. Adjustment is in output pixels. •V-POSN: Vertical position of output Vertical sync in relation to Active Video. Adjustment is in output lines. •H-SIZE: Horizontal size of the Active Line time in relation to Total line time. Adjustment is in output pixels •V-SIZE: Vertical size of the Active Vertical period in relation to Total vertical frame. Adjustment is in output lines. •O: Output resolutions as shown. Pass or Pass-through – is 1920X1080i/60 output in case of 1920X1080i/60 input and 720X480p/60 output in case of 720X480i/60 input; L1920X1080 – is 1920X1080P/24 Hz; H1920X1080 – is 1920X1080P/60 Hz; All other resolution settings areas shown with 60 Hz frame rate. The change of resolution requires 10 to 15 seconds. Please wait this amount of time when changing the resolutions. •OFFSETH: Changes the Horizontal position of captured input video with respect to Horizontal input sync. •OFFSETV: Changes the Vertical position of captured input video with respect to Vertical input sync. •SYNCPOL: Output sync polarity. •RGBYUV: Changes output color space to RGB or YUV. The change is on both VGA and DVI outputs. When YUV selected the VGA output does not carry Sync on Y. YUV cannot be used for component monitors. Only DVI; HDMI (with adaptor) or VGA monitors can be used. •HAPOSN: Changes output Horizontal active line time position with respect to output Horizontal sync. Please be careful to adjust in DVI or HDMI output connection. May cause loss of video. Return to previous setting in case of loss of video. •VAPOSN: Changes output vertical active frame position with respect to output Vertical sync.
