Operating temperature 2. Correlation means “agreement”. The correlator (1) calculates the distance between the leakage point (2) and a measurement point (3 + 4) from the different travel times of the leakage noise at two measurement points and displays it graphically and in meters. inline housings (3+4) receive these vibrations at different times – depending on the distance from the leakage point – and transmit these to the radio transmitter (5 +6). At this point the vibrations are converted into electrical signals. They are then amplified and transmitted via radio (7+8) to the correlator. The vibrations (leakage noise) caused by the escaping water at the point of damage are transferred to either side through the pipe itself and the water head within it. The sensors attached to the pipe or the The correlator compares the two signals and calculates the exact distance of the leak from the signal delay time, the sensor distance and the sound velocity in the pipe.
