OREGAN TV BROWSER 3.0 Advanced Web Interactivity and Targeted Services for Consumer Electronics APPLICATION A successful digital entertainment product is designed with the end consumer in mind, which means fast UI response times, enhanced interactivity and instant access to personalised, compelling content. Oregan TV Browser brings these features to mainstream Consumer Electronics (CE) and Consumer Premises Equipment (CPE) via the integration of secure web browsing technologies with device connectivity and media streaming protocols. At the heart of Oregan's solution are W3C standards and a clean-room vector graphics rendering engine, enabling User Interfaces to be easily created and customized with popular XHTML or Adobe® Flash® content development tools. The browser module performs two functions: • Unified UI framework for open access web browsing, delivery of network-based media services and device configuration and controls; • Head-end middleware and 3rd party application integration via JavaScript extension API. The web-based user interface can be updated instantaneously allowing the operator to provision new content and design, such as branding refreshes, promotions and entertainment content as well as periodic software or feature upgrades.

Oregan integrates with complementary third-party technologies via a set of well-defined but fully extensible JavaScript APIs to enable head-end middleware, DRM / CAS, digital broadcast, DVD-R and PVR feature integration.
Ease of Portability to Silicon and OS Platforms Full source code access to the Oregan Abstraction Layer (OAL) enables the functional modules of Oregan's software to be readily implemented on a variety of embedded silicon platforms by Oregan or its customers.
Optimised Processes and Costs • Oregan Media Browser is available as a fully modular, platform independent set of technology building blocks, or as a ready-to-market networked media product reference design on a variety of leading chipset platforms. • The three modules work in unison, integrated tightly and sharing common functionalities wherever appropriate. Alternatively, the modules may be applied independently, as required to meet a particular product specification. Minimum platform resource allocation: • Embedded code footprint: 2 MB Flash
• Execution memory usage: 8 MB SDRAM
• Recommended CPU performance: 150 MIPS
