7559BOW Digital Scale Instruction Manual Thank you for purchasing a Bowflex® Scale. Please read this instruction manual carefully before use. Keep these instructions handy for future reference. Scale Features Your scale has body mass index (BMI), Daily Recommended Calories, and Goal Weight Tracking features. It also functions as a basic weight-only scale. ● BMI Body Mass Index (BMI) is calculated from a person’s weight and height, and is a widely accepted measurement of weight by most. (See BMI chart.) ● Daily Recommended Calories This scale uses your age, height, gender and an activity level setting to calculate the estimated number of calories (Kcal) you can consume a day to maintain your present weight. This estimation may gradually help you with a weight loss, gain or maintenance plan. ● Goal Weight Tracking Your scale is equipped with Goal Weight Tracking software that computes the difference between your goal and actual weights. Up to eight individuals may enter their goal weight into a personal user memory. You may then track your progress by viewing the difference between your current weight and your goal weight. Battery Installation 1. Use 4 AAA batteries (included. Remove any plastic wrap from the batteries before proceeding). Always replace all batteries at the same time; do not combine old and new batteries. 2. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the scale. 3. Place the batteries into the battery compartment according to the “+” and “-“ polarity symbols in the compartment. 4. Replace the battery compartment cover. 5. Replace all the batteries if “LO” appears on the screen or if readings grow dim or irregular. General Operation & Weight Only Use Your BMI/Goal Weight Tracking scale will operate as a basic weightreading scale. No special programming steps are required. 1. This scale operates on 4 “AAA” batteries, which are included. Please see “Battery Installation” section of this manual for installation instructions. Also, some models have a static cling label on the lens to prevent scratching. Please remove before use. 2. Your scale has been set at the factory to read weight in pounds. You may select kilogram units of measurement or stone units of measurement (14 pounds = 1 stone) by pressing the “kg/lb/st” button on the bottom of the scale. 3. Place scale on flat, hard surface. Carpeted or uneven floors may affect accuracy. 4. Step on the scale (disregarding the reading) and step off. This process insures the scale is set and is now ready for use. At all other times step straight onto the scale. 5. Step onto the scale platform and remain still. The display will count up to your weight. The display will flash three times when the weight is locked. Your weight is now displayed. 6. The scale will turn off automatically after approximately 10 seconds. Scale shows zero. Step on scale. Weight displays. Save Personal Data & Goal Weight into Memory The scale will calculate your body mass index (BMI) and estimate your daily calorie intake to maintain your current weight. These readings are based on your gender, height, age, activity level and weight. You must first save this data into one of the scale’s memory numbers. You may also save a goal weight into memory to help track your weight loss goals. Your data will be stored into memory for future use, thus eliminating the need to enter it before each reading. 1. While the scale is off, press the “¤” (On) button. The scale will turn on and display a memory number (P1-P8). 2. Press “▲” or “▼” until the memory number you wish to use appears. General Information Why it is important to monitor your Body Mass Index (BMI): Maintaining proper weight is essential to healthy living. Obesity has been linked to a higher risk of heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cancer. The Body Mass Index (BMI) is calculated from a person’s weight and height, and is a widely accepted measurement of weight by most. Body Mass Index Daily Recommended Calories Feature (Kcal) This scale offers a Recommended Daily Calorie feature to help you maintain your current weight. This is the estimated daily calorie intake to maintain your current weight at your present physical activity level. The current weight maintenance calorie count appears on the LCD screen as “Kcal”. This estimation may gradually help you with a weight loss, gain or maintenance plan. NOTE: Please use the illustrations as guide lines only. Due to continuous product improvements, the illustrations shown in this manual may differ slightly from the actual display. IMPORTANT CAUTIONS: Proper calorie intake and nutrition are important to maintain a healthy body. Always consult a physician before undertaking any exercise or diet program.
