The low/ mid section comprises a 15" with 75 mm voice coil mounted in Bass reflex. The high section comprises a new generation coaxial 1" HF driver. Like the other APG Dispersion series, the DS15R uses a coaxial loudspeaker set that provides a very coherent acoustic field with 90° conical dispersion. The DS15R has a specific design, featuring 45° and 35° slanted panels. Fittings include a 36 mm pole mount socket and a built-in metal bar handle. The FAREO4R option features the adaptation of 4AEROQUIP™ rings linked two by two with an internal steel frame providing full agreement to security regulation especially when flown in cluster configuration. DS15R shown in FOH and stage monitor settings Due to its asymetric design, the DS15R is fully dedicated to stage applications. Used with a standard dynamic microphone, this stage monitor excels in feedback reduction. Indeed, the passive filters installed in this speaker have a temporal alignment function to obtain regular linear phase and amplitude in frequency response, to balance the natural irregularities found in standard dynamic microphones. Therefore the equalization for the mic/ speaker set is simplified. In addition, the triangular ergonomics of the loudspeaker offers two different floor angles allowing adapting the sound coverage in near-field or far-field configuration. Used alone, the DS15R is dedicated to vocal or stage monitor applications for medium to high power configurations. With this information, the precise amount of energy reproduced by each transducer can be worked out as well as the frequency bands within which they operate. (1) The 99 dB efficiency measurement is taken after attenuation ; before attenuation the sensitivity is 106 dB. This attenuation not only allows the system to become linear but also increases the power handling in the given frequency range. (2) Dispersion is controlled from 800 Hz. The angles given here are irrelevant below this frequency. (3) In order to take full benefit of the dynamic performance, sonic quality and reliability of the speakers, the recommended amplification must at least correspond to the AES rating. Lesser amplification is acceptable for applications requiring less power (near-field, distributed systems,...), whilst not being less than half the AES rating. The AES power handling corresponds to a 2 hour test using weighted pink noise (peak factor of 6dB) through a frequency range of one decade. (4) The SPEAKON cables are wired, hot pin 1+, cold pin 1-. (5) AEROQUIP™ system to allow speaker installation with safety slings. (6) Stainless steel screws and waterproofing of speaker cones. (7) Tropicalisation includes fiber-glass reinforced polyester coating of the cabinet, stainless steel screws and waterproofing of speaker cones. (8) Paint preparation for the requested color. The warranty does not cover cosmetic damages and damages due to misuse, improper installation, or damages caused by alterations. Printing : March 2009 APG has a comprehensive research and development policy for the continual improvement of its products and service. Due to this, new materials, manufacturing methods and technological changes may be introduced without prior notice. As a result, an APG product can differ from its published description in certain areas. However, unless otherwise indicated, its characteristics will always equal or better the published specifications.
