WALL MOUNT PIR MOVEMENT DETECTOR DM SUP 000 & DM SUP P00 TIME and LUX adjustment The control knobs are in the detector's downside. 2a. Installing the detector to the recommended height of 1.8 - 2 metres it extend throughout a length from among 8 and 12m, and an angle of 110º. In order to reduce the reach, aim it toward the ground. Wiring - TIME: controls how long the light will stay on after the last motion has been detected. Top View - LUX: determines at what light level the lighting system will start operating when the sensor is in automatic mode (it is adjusted from factory to work at any time of the day). 1 DIMENSIONS 65mm Side View Facedown metres 95mm INSTRUCTION MANUAL 80mm 2b. The motion sensor is more sensitive to the motion which is across the detection field and less sensitive to the motion which moves directly towards the detector : Mounting TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Less sensibility to the motion if it comes directly to the detector. Power supply: 230V ~ 50Hz Load: 16A / 250V~ Incandescent and Halogen 230V: 3.000W Halogen with electronic transformer: 3.000W Halogen with ferromagnet. transformer: 2.400W Fluorescent: 1.300W (130µF) Energy saving lamp: 18x7W, 12x11W, 10x15W, 10x20W, 10x23W Admits contactor Detection angle (max): 180º Detection range (max): 12m Adjustment: potentiometers or remote control (EM MAN DM0) Time: adjustable between 5sec. and 10 min. Lux: adjustable between 3 and 100Lux Operating temperature: -20ºC ~ +40ºC Internal consumption: <1W / 6VA Protection degree: IP44 How does it work? This motion sensor detects small temperature changes caused by movements (persons, cars,...) inside its coverage area, turning-on the connected lighting system. During the day, the built-in photocell sensor allows to save energy by deactivating the lamps as soon as the daylight is bigger than the adjusted LUX level. Seguridad Positive Safety Positiva (only DM SUP P00) In case of taking place a damage in the detector, the lamps will keep constantly switched-on at maximum until it is replaced. 2 Brown Blue Red More sensibility to the motion crossing the area of coverage. Wall mounting PLACE SELECTION Less sensibility Because the detector responds to changes of temperature, please follow these recommendations: More sensibility Avoid aiming the sensor at areas or objects whose surfaces are highly reflecting or are subject to fast changes of temperatures. Avoid mounting the detector close to sources of heat, like air conditioning, drying or lights. Do not allow sunlight or lights to fall directly on the front of the unit. Although the detector is weatherproof, for outdoor installation, a location under eaves is preferable, preventing the strong rains or snow hit the sensor. Try to avoid pointing the unit at trees or shrubs or where the motion of pets may be detected. 3 INSTALLATION AND WIRING Precautions Read these instructions carefully before accomplishing the installation. 4 SETTINGS A. Manual setting TIME The installation should be executed by a qualified electrician. Be sure to switch off power source before installing. Turn off the power to the lighting circuit at the circuit breaker or fuse box to avoid electrical shock. Verify that the given data in the instructions and product are the appropriate for the installation. Do not install outside when it is raining. LUX + 1. LUX adjustment Placing LUX knob to " ", the detector will only work if the luminosity level is below the minimum, approximately 3 luxes. If the luminosity level is more than 3 luxes, the detector will not connect the lamps although it detects motion. Placing LUX knob to " ", the detector will turn-on the lamps every time it detects motion, regardless of the light level. Therefore, in order to choose an intermediate level according to the user's needs, it is necessary to place the potentiometer in a value between " " and " ". 7. Tighten up the screws to fix the detector on its correct position. 2. TIME adjustment Turn the TIME control knob clockwise to increase how long the lights stay on or counter clockwise to decrease the time delay: - Placing TIME control knob to " - ", the lamps will be turned-on only for 5 seconds. - Placing TIME control knob to " + " the lamps will be turned-on for 10 minutes. - For any different time set the potentiometer between those values. 8. Turn the TIME control knob clockwise to increase how long the lights stay on or counter clockwise to decrease the time delay. 9. Turn the LUX control knob to the desired level for operation. 10. Repeat steps 3 to 9 until reaching the desired detection coverage. 6 The lamps are switched-on with the storms TROUBLESHOOTING Wrong operations should be caused by a wrong installation or orientation. Light does not turn on 1. Adjust the LUX control knob by turning it counter clockwise. B. Setting by Remote Control (EM MAN DM0) 2. Check power and load wiring are connected properly. It is possible to adjust the time and the lux level to the one that the detector should be activated through this remote control. 3. Examine if the bulb of the lighting system is in good condition or loose. The rain, snow and storms can cause sudden temperature changes which can activate the device. To minimize this risk is convenient to install it in a protected area. Maintenance and reparation Keep the lens clean and unhindered. Clean it with a wet cloth. Soaps or cleaning products could damage the lens. Do not try repairing the detector. For it, follow the common steps contacting with your dealer. 4. Check if the total load of the lighting system exceeds the switching capacity. 5 5. Confirm that the wiring has been made correctly. OPERATION 5a. Automatic mode 6. Check that it has not been set the permanent turningoff (OFF) by the remote control EM MAN DM0. If so, press again OFF key to get out from that mode. When the device is supplied with the necessary voltage according to the wiring diagram 2c, the sensor will automatically detect the motion of everything located inside its coverage area and the lamps will be switched-on. The system will work according to the Time and Lux adjustments. Nuisance triggering 1. The heat that the lamps emit can make the detector act wrong if they are very near. 5b. Working Test 2. Make sure that the light of the lamps is not focussed directly to the detector. If so, reorient it. The purpose of the test is to check and adjust the coverage pattern of the motion sensor when is connected for the first time. 3. Take in mind that the detector is more sensitive in winter. It is easier for it detecting the energy of infrared in low temperatures. 1. Turn TIME knob to the minimum ( - ) and LUX knob to " ". In this way the detector will work in any level of luminosity and after 5sec. the motion is stopped it will be disconnected. 2. Turn the power on and wait a minute before starting with the test. NOTE: Light remains on Some weather conditions could induce a lesser sensibility in the detector: In dense foggy nights, the responsiveness can be lesser because of the humidity accumulated on the lens. In sweltering days, the responsiveness can be lesser because of the room temperature is alike to the body one. In very cold days, when people is well-covered, specially on the face, the body emits very few heat, so the detector could have problems to sense. 1. Adjust the TIME control knob by turning it counter clockwise. 2. Make sure the wiring connection is correct. 3. Aim the sensor towards the area you want to cover. 3. Keep away from the detection area. 4. Walk through the detection area. The light turn on when you move and turns off when you stop. Wait for the light turn off before moving again to test the sensor. 4 . Make sure the detector is not installed over an unstable base, neither it is influenced by a heat source, water or temperature changes. 5. Ascertain the Permanent ON has not been set by the remote control EM MAN DM0. If so, press ON key again to get out from that mode. Test Start End 5. Adjust the sensor to cover the desired detection area. For a smaller coverage area, point it down; for a larger coverage area, point the sensor up. 6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until reaching the desired detection coverage. Before starting with other test switch-off the power for at least 5 seconds. Ignore the settings of the detector Verify that the values have not been set by the remote control (EM MAN DM0). If so, press RESET key from the remote control in order to set the values from the control knobs of the detector. DINUY, S. A. c/ Auzolan,2 20.303 IRUN GIPUZKOA (SPAIN)
