UNPACKING
This equipment should be unpacked and handled with care. If an item appears to have been damaged in shipment, replace it properly in its carton and notify the shipper.
LTC 9349MK Mounting Kit (included with DMEBXR)
Check for the following items: • Verify the unit model number • Verify that the parts shown in the Parts List have been included If any items are missing, notify your Bosch Security Systems Inc. Sales Representative or Customer Service. The original packing carton is the safest container in which to transport the unit. Save it for possible future use.

DESCRIPTION
The metal DMEBX & DMEBXR should be used when DME applications require plenum-rated or metal materials to be mounted above the ceiling. The DMEBX consists of a metal back can, while the DMEBXR includes both the metal back can and the LTC 9349MK mounting kit with support rails.

INSTALLATION
3.1
DMEBX
1. Cut a 172 mm (6.75 in.) diameter hole in the ceiling. Use two pencils (or a pencil and a nail) with the template tool provided with the DMEBX to draw the circle. 2. Route the power and video cables through the metal back can and connect to the screw terminal and BNC connector, respectively, located on the back of the DME unit. 3. Secure the metal back can into the ceiling by tightening the screws that will engage the mounting clamps onto the ceiling (see mounting clamps (A) in FIGURE 1).

Figure 1: Installing into Ceiling 4. After the metal back can is securely in place, insert the in-ceiling DME unit into the can and tighten its screws to engage its mounting clips onto the rim of the metal back can (see mounting clamps (B) in FIGURE 1 and FIGURE 2). Mounting Clamp (B)

DMEBXR
1. The DMEBXR version comes with a LTC 9349MK for extra support. To mount the LTC 9349MK into the ceiling, refer to its included instructions.

2. After the LTC 9349MK is mounted into the ceiling, follow the preceding Steps 1 through 5. 3. Refer to FIGURE 3 for a view of the ceiling plate, support rails, and back can mounted into the ceiling. Figure 3: Assembled DMEBXR
