For multiple ONUs application, It isn’t easy to test TSETTLING directly, but there is a relationship TSETTLING = TGAP-TGUARD when TON=TOFF, then TSETTLING can be calculated by TGAP and a certain guard time at ONU side. 8. See Figure 3. TGAP be less than 250ns is guaranteed. 9. An increase in optical power above the specified level will cause Los of Signal (LOS) output to switch from a high state to a low state. 10. A decrease in optical power below the specified level will cause Los of Signal (LOS) output to switch from a low state to a high state. TX Fault is an open collector/drain c n output, whiich should be e pulled up with w a 4.7K-10KΩ resistor on the hostt board. Pull up voltage between 2.0V 2 and VccT, T R+0.3V. When W high, output o indica ates a laser fa ault of some e DS-5432 Rev 06 2011-6 6-7 SPS-4 43-GB--P2-CD DFC kind. Low w indicates normal n opera ation. In the lo ow state, the e output will be b pulled to < 0.8V. 2. TX disab ble is an input that is used to shut down d the transmitter optical output. IIt is pulled up u within the e module with w a 4.7-10 0 KΩ resistor. Its states are: Low (0-0 0.8V): Transm mitter on (>0.8, < 2.0V): 2 Undeffined High (2.0 0-3.465V): Trransmitter Disabled Open: Trransmitter Diisabled 3. MOD-DE EF0,1,2. Thesse are the module definittion pins. The ey should be e pulled up w with a 4.7K-10 0KΩ resistorr on the ho ost board. Th he pull-up vo oltage shall be VccT or VcccR. MOD-DE EF0 is ground ded by the module m to ind dicate that the e module is present p MOD-DE EF1 is the clo ock line of tw wo-wire seriall interface for serial ID MOD-DE EF2 is the da ata line of two o-wire serial interface for serial ID 4. LOS (Loss of Signall) is an open n collector/drain output, which shoulld be pulled up with a 4.7K-10KΩ 4 age between 2.0V and VccT, R+0.3V.. When high, this output indicates the e received resistor. Pull up volta p is belo ow the worsst-case receiver sensitiv vity (as defin ned by the sstandard in use). Low optical power indicatess normal operation. In the e low state, th he output willl be pulled to o < 0.8V. 5. These arre the differe ential receive er outputs. Th hey are DC coupled 100 0 Ω differentiial lines whic ch should be e terminate ed with 100 Ω (differentia al) at the user SERDES. (See ( Recom mmended Inte erface Circuitt) 6. VccR and d VccT are the receiver and transmitte er power sup pplies. They are defined as 3.3V±5% % at the SFP P connecto or pin. Maxim mum supply current is 300 3 mA. Rec commended host board power supply filtering iss shown in n figure 4. Inductors with h DC resistan nce of less than t 1Ω should be used in order to maintain the e required voltage at th he SFP inpu ut pin with 3.3V supply voltage. v Whe en the recom mmended supply filtering g network is i used, hot plugging p of the SFP transsceiver modu ule will resultt in an inrush h current of no n more than n 30 mA grreater than th he steady sta ate value. 7. These arre the differe ential transm mitter inputs. They are AC C coupled diifferential line es with 100Ω Ω differentiall termination inside the e module. Th he AC coupliing is done inside the mo odule and is thus not req quired on the e host board.
