DUAL LSM
Dual LSM mode allows two operators to use the same XT3 server. Each operator can then manage their own LSM environment with their own individual settings and defined set of camera inputs. Dual LSM mode is only available when using the ChannelMAX option of the XT3 server, equipped with the latest hardware, combined with the Dual LSM license code. For more information about the ChannelMAX option … see below.
Dual LSM features
Two possible configurations are currently supported : 8 IN + 4 OUT: offers each operator a 4 IN + 2 OUT configuration (as shown in the picture above). 6 IN + 6 OUT: each operator can use a 3 IN + 3 OUT configuration
Multicam 14.01 offers the ability of operation with only 2 remotes - one remote per operator. The PGM outputs are always evenly split between operators (2 OUT for operator 1 and 2 OUT for operator 2 or 3 OUT for operator 1 and 3 OUT for operator 2).
Dual-LSM enables at least 2 outputs per user, which can be used in PGM/PRV or 2PGM mode. in 4 IN + 2 OUT mode for each operator: a mix is available between two outputs for each operator (PGM1+2 or PGM3+4).
in 3 IN + 3 OUT mode for each operator it is only possible to mix between: PGM 1 and 2 PGM 4 and 5

No mix is available for PGM3 or PGM 6
Muilticam 14.01 Limitations for Dual LSM: Playlists are supported on both remotes but with some limitations for Operator 2. no “Clear Unavailable” function allowed from the 2nd user seat, as this affects all playlists no “Replace” function is possible, as this is using PGM 1 and LOOP IN controlled by the fist operator.
Timeline editing, Paint Target and special effects are only available for Operator 1.
Hypermotion camera control is available only on Remote 2 (Operator 2).
Dual LSM Configuration Dual LSM mode can be activated from the server configuration VGA, the Web Configuration or the LSM Remote simply by setting the parameter Dual LSM mode to yes. (note: this requires option code 116 on the server, as well as ChannelMAX Option)

CAMERA MAPPING AND CLIP OPERATIONS
Camera Mapping Each operator is able to map the cameras they wish to use through the ABCD buttons of their remote. By default the mapping is ABCD for Operator 1 and EFGH for Operator 2. Operator 1:
Operator 2:
There is a new configuration screen available on the remote that allows the operator to select his cameras. This can be done by pressing one of the A/B/C/D keys and subsequently pressing one of the F keys to associate the relevant camera. Operator 1:
Operator 2:
Once this selection has been done by both operators, it is reflected in the operational LCD screens of their remotes as shown below. Operator 1 has selected cameras A, C, E and G and operator 2 the cameras B, D, F and H. Note that there is nothing to prevent the same camera from being selected by both operators. Result:

Operations on Clips
2.4.
LSM ID’s are global in Multicam Pages, banks, clips are shared between both LSM operators. For instance a clip made by operator 1 will be seen and will be available to operator 2. When creating a clip, this is done using the Automake rules of the operator that creates the clip
VGA SCREEN
There are no changes here compared to the previous versions of Multicam, and thus the two views (4 CAM or 12 CAM view) are both available in the VGA screen. As only one VGA screen exists, the Dual LSM operations have been optimized with the LSM Connect tablet as explained in the Live Tools section of this Operators’ Pro News.

3. NEW ENGINEERING FEATURES IN MULTICAM 14.01 3.1.
NEW INTERNAL MULTIVIEWER LAYOUT FOR FULL-SCREEN MONITORING OF 1 CHANNEL
All Record (REC) INPUT and (PGM) OUTPUT channels can be displayed through the internal Multiviewer. With the Hardware version 4.00 (with the MV4 Multiviewer hardware), it is now also possible, to select a full screen layout from a single source. This is useful in Dual LSM configurations, to provide a dedicated OSD output of a player channel when the OSD output of the given channel on the codec module is not available (e.g. PGM 3 and 4 as shown in the picture below). The same feature is used in UHD-4K workflows to show the complete 4K space in a single HD output of the Multiviewer as a single feed.
3.2.
XAVC INTRA HD NATIVE SUPPORT ON XT3 / XS
Multicam 12.02 previously supported XAVC Intra native playout while running in AVC-Intra mode. From Multicam 14.01 onwards, XAVC-Intra HD is now also supported natively for recording and playback workflows (720p / 1080i / 1080p).
3.3.
XDCAM + LORES ENCODING
If the server is hardware edition 4.00 (which means equipped with an H3XP board) and equipped with the XDCAM option, it is now possible to activate a dual encoding of XDCAM + Lores mode.

3.4.
NEW EPSIO PROTOCOL SETTING
The new Epsio protocol an improved Epsio’s integration with the Multicam LSM in terms of communication and interactivity (e.g. the indications displayed in the remote’s LCD will be defined by Epsio). This brings with it an increased flexibility and dynamic capabilities from the LSM operators seat.
3.5.
SIMPLIFIED SLSM CONFIGURATIONS
The SLSM settings have been re-arranged making the configurations easier and faster.
Number of cameras: number of SLSM cameras in the given configuration. A SLSM camera corresponds to one logical record channel (CAM A for example) SLSM Speed: Frame rate at which the SLSM camera records the incoming feeds, expressed in multiples of the standard frame rate of 25 FPS (at 50Hz) or 30 FPS (at 59.95 Hz), or 60FPS in progressive. On 3G SDI: specifies whether two SLSM phases are connected to the EVS server using a single 3G-SDI interface.
On individual 1.5 Gbps SDIO
On-3G SDI (Dual-Stream)
3 GS DI
3.6.
CHANNELMAX
Channel MAX (12 channel configurations) had already been introduced with the previous version of Multicam 14.00 but was only available in some LSM modes as enhanced SuperMotion support and also in dense Spotbox modes.
Multicam LSM mode: With the latest release of Multicam we are now also introducing the Channel MAX configurations in regular LSM operations and parallel configurations with either IPD or third party protocols. This is the case for the following configurations: 10 IN + 2 OUT 8 IN + 4 OUT 6 IN + 6 OUT
XDCAM Only mode: Three new configurations are available, which lift the limitation we had on the previous version in terms of Mix on one channel. Those configurations are as follows: 10 IN + 1 OUT 8 IN + 2 OUT 6 IN + 3 OUT

NEW CONFIGURATIONS WITH MULTICAM 14
From new supported configurations please refer to the following page.
4. TRUCK MANAGER 4.1.
INTRODUCTION
In the context of increasingly complex OB production truck environments, which utilise multiple EVS products, the Truck Manager solution is designed to help minimize configuration and support time by providing a centralized setup tool.
4.2.
MAIN FEATURES
Auto-Detection of EVS Products Truck manager automatically detects all EVS products in the OB truck’s ethernet management network – whether that be servers, LSM Remotes, XFile3, MultiReview or LSM Connect. Configuration and IP address management can then all be controlled centrally.
Configuration of Device/Server Settings All device and server settings can be configured – either globally or individually – using the Truck Manager Wizard. The user proceeds through device selection, video and audio settings and network configuration.
Offline Configuration Complex setups can be created offline, in advance, and then applied onsite to the truck in a matter of minutes. This is particularly useful when preparing for events, where the number and type of devices that will be available

is known – meaning the setup can be configured before travelling and then applied immediately on arrival. You can apply a show config to the trucks equipment complement, saving time and getting to production faster.
Import/Export Configurations Truck Manager configurations can also be imported or exported, meaning that setups can be quickly transferred between events or trucks. This can be useful e.g. where different trucks are used to cover matches during a sports season where the production setup is always the same.
Compatibility Optimization Truck Manager automatically checks that all EVS products and devices are compatible, and that their interrelationships are optimized. For instance, if the software versions of different products are incompatible, Truck Manager will highlight this and prompt the user to update the setup accordingly. For more information about truck Manager you can refer to the Tutorial available on EVS’ website.
