downloadLibrary Audiobook Instructions for iPod Nano 5th Generation Required software 1. Before you can download library audiobooks to your computer you need to install the free and safe OverDrive Media Console software on your computer. Go to www.downloadlibrary.ca and look for “Software” on the right side of the screen. Follow the steps to download OverDrive Media Console for your computer type. 2. Open Overdrive Media Console (OMC). You need to upgrade the Windows Media Player Security Upgrade to allow for DRM files to be played on your computer. Click on the Tools menu and select Windows Media Player Security Upgrade. Follow the steps to install the upgrade. 3. You also require iTunes on your computer. That’s the program you would use to Searching for and downloading audiobook titles 1. Minimize the OMC software and visit downloadLibrary at www.downloadlibrary.ca 2. In downloadLibrary you can search for titles in the following ways: Entering title/keywords in the search bar; browse by format; browse by subject. Audiobook titles will appear with format specific indicators (i.e. WMA or MP3). 3. When you have found a title you want, select “Add to Cart.” If the title is already checked out, you may request it by selecting “Place a Hold.” To see how many copies the library owns and how many people have holds on it, click on a title with holds. book will be stored on your computer. Click OK. A screen showing the different parts to the book available for download will appear. Click OK. The book is then downloaded to your computer. Transferring an audiobook to an iPod/mp3 Player 1. Connect your iPod Nano Touch to your computer. 2. Click on the Nano name in left menu. Ensure the option”Manually Manage Music” is checked. Click onApply in lower right corner. 3. In iTunes, click on File > Add Folder to Library. Browse your hard drive to find your audiobook. Generally it will be located in Documents > My Media > MP3 Audiobooks or WMA Audiobook depending on what file you downloaded. Click on the book title and then select OK. 2. The book is then added to your iTunes music gallery. 3. Drag the book parts to your iPod as if it was music. I suggest adding the book to a new playlist so it is easy to find on your Nano. 4. Play the Playlist on your Nano. Be sure Shuffle is turned off.    Audiobooks can be downloaded for 7, 14, or 21 days. WMA audiobooks cannot be returned early Audiobooks can be renewed 3 days prior to being due if no one is on the wait list. 4. After you have added an available title to your cart, select “Proceed to Checkout.” Select your library which is “Stratford Public Library”. Login by entering your library card number and PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number). You can manage the lending period using the drop-down menu. Select “Confirm check out.” 5. You may now download the title using the “Download” button under the item.
