The ordinary inverter battery charger that most of us know use only two stages of charging which are: Bulk and Float This 2 stage inverter battery charger suffers from frequent water topping of battery leading to high maintenance cost and release of more harmful gases in environment. Moreover batteries charged from these inverters do not give proper back up time and also shorten life of the battery leading to high cost to users. For the first time in India, Su-Kam introduces 6 stage battery charging technology based on microprocessor (using next generation computer chips) to recharge, using 6 stages regulated charging. DT-6S 6 STAGE BATTERY CHARGING TECHNOLOGY (Increases Battery Life Upto 30%) FIRST STAGE SECOND STAGE THIRD STAGE FOURTH STAGE FIFTH STAGE SIXTH STAGE DESULPHATION SOFT START BULK CHARGE ABSORPTION EQUALISATION FLOAT Desulphation Charging Inverter Batteries are Lead Acid units which are composed of Lead Plates submerged in Sulphuric Acid. Over time during the operation of battery a chemical compound called lead sulphate builds up and bonds to battery plates. This causes less surface area of plates to react with acid hence less power produced by battery. Su-Kam’s DT-6S Charging technology uses high voltage, low current micropulses to detach the sulphate crystal from the plates. This enables battery to produce optimum power and prolongs battery life. Soft Start Charging A Deep discharged battery needs a reduced charging current when it is first hooked up on charging mode otherwise battery could be damaged. The soft start charging stage offers smaller charging current & start up low voltage until battery gets back up to about 10-15% before the next stage of battery charging begins. Bulk Charging After the soft start charging, battery is safe to charge with a rapid high voltage and constant predefined current until battery reaches about 80% of charge level. Su-Kam’s DT-6S technology makes this happen as quickly as possible with all safety and without harming long term life of the battery. Absorption Charging Stage Once the battery charger detects that the charging has slowed down at about 80% of charge level, it begins to taper the charging current and feeding the battery until it reaches 100% of charge level. Equalization Charging Stage It reverses the buildup of negative chemical effects like stratification, a condition where acid concentration is greater at the bottom of the battery than at the top. Equalizing also helps to remove sulfate crystals that might have built up on the plates. If left unchecked, this condition, called sulfation, will reduce the overall capacity of the battery. Basically this stage is set to shake acid and water up. Enough current is fed to the battery to cause tiny bubbles to form stirring up the acid which was settled at the bottom of the battery and remixing the acid and water back into efficient solution hence optimum performance from the battery. Su-Kam’s DT-6S technology has the program built into the chargers to enable batteries be equalized periodically, ranging anywhere from once a month to once or twice per year. Float Maintenance Stage The FLOAT stage is where the charge voltage is reduced to a preset level and held constant, while the current is reduced to less than 1% of battery capacity. This mode is used to maintain the battery at full charge level. In case of short circuit the system beeps & retries 4 times. After 4 beeps, the system will shut down automatically. Reduced Water Topping DT-6S 6 Stage Charging controls the emission of gases while charging the battery, thus reducing the frequency of water topping significantly. Compatibility with batteries The three way slider selection switch gives you option to provide charge to the battery according to the battery type thus improving back-up quality and enhancing battery life. MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) Shark series is equipped with MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker) to protect the system and appliances from various distortions present in the power supply and also provide short circuit protection. SMF – The batteries will be charged at 14.2 V. Tubular – The batteries will be charged at 14.5 V. LA – The batteries will be charged at 13.9V. UPS mode/Wide UPS mode – A slider selection switch can be used to select the system mode – UPS mode (for sensitive appliances) or Wide UPS mode (for non-sensitive). Shark 1600 Smart Overload Protection Protects the system from breakdown in case of overload. The system gives a repeated beep alarm to inform the user about overload. In case the load is not reduced, the system will shut down automatically after 8 repeated beep alarms.
