2 pl/5 pl "Multi-Droplet Print Head" The New "MicroFine Droplet Technology" has been further improved, enabling the development of a multi-droplet print head capable of ejecting 2 pl microscopic ink droplets in addition to 5 pl droplets. With this head, 2 pl and 5 pl nozzles are arranged alternately, enabling printing using only 2 pl ink droplets on the threshold of visibility to the naked eye. This allows the i450 to produce highest-quality photo prints free of graininess.

Outstanding dot control and advanced control technology enables 4,800*1 x 1,200 dpi high-resolution printing. This provides high-definition photo quality free of blurring.
Monochrome: 18 ppm / Colour: 12 ppm The i450 has been improved to provide even more efficient power transmission from the auto-sheet-feeder/purge motor to the paper-feed roller. Likewise, improvements to the line-feed and auto-sheet-feeder motors themselves have successfully increased the paper-feed speed while maintaining a high degree of precision. These improvements, combined with the high-density multi-nozzle head, provide high-speed printing comparable with that of higher-class models.

New "MicroFine Droplet Technology" Powerful ejection
Camera Direct The i450 can be connected to a Canon digital camera or digital video camcorder*2 using a single connector cable. Images obtained can be printed out immediately with high quality simply by using the LCD monitor on the camera or camcorder. This provides fast and easy high-quality prints with no need to use a PC, and also supports Exif Print and YCC colour space.*3 *1 Ink droplets can be placed with a pitch of 1/4800 inch at minimum. *2 Models supporting "BUBBLE JET DIRECT". Still images will be printed out for digital video camcorders. *3 See the overleaf for details on Exif Print and YCC colour space.

The paper-feed and output trays can be stowed inside the main body to protect them from dust when not in use and to further refine the smart styling. Fast borderless printing is possible on precut paper. The driver also features a function that allows previewing of the printed image.* The amount of extension (adjustable in four steps) can be checked on the screen before printing.
