All values are valid without disturbance on straight duct section. 1 DRC Technical description Design The DRC is a complete, rectangular displacement unit with rounded corners. It is designed to stand on the floor. The body consists of side, top and bottom plates and an air distribution plate equipped with a number of adjustable discs. The top plate has a circular inlet for size 200 to 400. Sizes 200-600 and 250-800 have a rectangular inlet spigot. The diffusion plate has an access hatch for access to the duct system. The base plate is equipped with four feet. There are one or more perforated front plates on the front of the body, attached with screws. Sizes 200 and 250 have one front plates. Sizes 315, 400, 200-600 and 250-800 have three front plates. The measuring point is in the top of the displacement unit. Materials and surface treatment The displacement unit is manufactured in galvanized sheet steel and aluminium profiles. It is coated with our pure white standard paint, RAL 9003/NCS S 0500-N. The unit is also available in other standard colours: Dusty grey 7037, white aluminium RAL 9006, jet black RAL 9005, grey aluminium RAL 9007 and white RAL 9010. Special versions In addition to the standard sizes, these displacement units are available in special dimensions, with reinforced front plates etc. Please contact your nearest sales office for further information. Commissioning The measurement outlet is placed on the top of the displacement unit. The k-factor of the unit is included in the product marking. The k-factor can also be found at www.swegon.com in the relevant k-factor guide. It is recommended that the a measurement unit and commissioning is used to regulate the air flow. This should be placed at least 3 - 4 duct diameters away from the displacement unit inlet. See Figure 1. Accessories Plinth plate: DRCT 2 - for the aesthetic concealment of the space between the feet of the unit. Planning K-FACTOR It is possible to modify the affected area by adjusting the deflectors behind the front plate. This does not affect the air flow, pressure drop or sound level. This flexibility simplifies any future changes in the furnishings of the room etc. N.B. The sound level in he engineering diagram's is valid at 150 m2 equivalent sound absorption area. This fact makes it important to check the air velocities in the connecting ducts to the terminals. Extra consideration has to be taken on how the ducts can be connected to the terminals. See figure 3. Installation The terminal is placed on the floor and if necessary can be screwed to the wall using angle brackets. See Figure 1. Figure 1. Installation. The displacement unit can be cleaned when necessary using lukewarm water with detergent added. The duct system is accessible by removing the perforated front plate and the access hatch. See Figure 2. See Figure 3 for how different duct connetions will affect the sound level. • At the equivalent room absorption area of 10 m2 and at 2 m from the unit, the noise level increases approx. by 10 dB(A). • The affected area refers to a displacement unit installed next to a wall, 100 mm on the floor. The affected area distance is related to the isovel limit of 0.2 m/s at Dt 3 K. • The graphs are not to be used for commissioning. • ∇ = min. air flow to obtain sufficient commissioning pressure. • The dB(C) value is normally 6-9 dB higher than the dB(A) value. • For Dt = 6 K the measurements a0,20 and b0,20 are increased by approx. 20%.
