I084 REV. B DS-2 AND DS-10 USER CALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCALES MANUFACTURED WITH SER. # (DS-2=35000 DS-10=45000) AFTER 04/03 1. Switch the scale on using the ON/OFF/TARE switch with no load on the platform. The display will show “8888” and then will show “0”. 2. Hold the ON/OFF/TARE switch down until the display changes to “CAL” then release the switch. The scale will then change from “CAL” to “0 Lb”. 3. Depress the ON/OFF switch and the display will show “ 0 oz.”. 4. Once the scale has displayed “0 oz.”, place the calibration weight on the platform a. For DS-2 use a 2 Kg weight (4.0 lbs. 6.5 oz) b. For DS-10 use a 5 Kg weight (11 lbs) Then press the ON/OFF/TARE switch once. When the scale has accepted the weight, the display will change from “0 oz.” to show the internal counts equal to approximately 24000. 5. Press the “ON/OFF” switch until the scale shuts off. 6. Remove the calibration weight and press the “ON/OFF” switch once to return to the normal weighing mode. SCALE MANUFACTURED AFTER 8/96: 5. Switch the scale on using the ON/OFF/TARE switch with no load on the platform. The display will show “8888” and then will show “0”. 6. Hold the ON/OFF/TARE switch down until the display changes from “0” to “C 0” then release the switch. The scale will then change from “C 0” to “C 100”. 7. Once the scale has displayed “C 100”, place the calibration weight on the platform a. For DS-2 use a 2 Kg weight (4.0 lbs. 6.5 oz) b. For DS-10 use a 5 Kg weight (11 lbs) Then press the ON/OFF/TARE switch once. When the scale has accepted the weight, the display will change from “C100” to “100”. 8. Remove the calibration weight and press the ON/OFF/TARE switch once to return to the normal weighing mode. SCALE MANUFACTURED 8/96 or earlier: 1. Switch the scale on using the ON/OFF/TARE switch with no load on scale. The display will show “88888” and then show “0” 2. Hold the ON/OFF/TARE switch down for over 15 seconds. 3. Release the ON/OFF/TARE switch. The display will show an alternating “000” and “CAL”. a. For DS-2 use a 2 Kg weight (4.0 lbs. 6.5 oz) b. For DS-10 use a 5 Kg weight (11 lbs.) The display will then show 2000 on the model DS-2 and 5000 on the DS-10 WARNING: THE CALIBRATION WEIGHT MUST BE A SINGLE UNIT OR PLACED ON THE SCALE AS A SINGLE UNIT OR THE SCALE MAY CALIBRATE INCORRECTLY WHEN THE FIRST OF TWO OR MORE WEIGHTS ARE PLACED ON THE SCALE 4. Return to the weighing mode by depressing the ON/OFF/TARE switch. 5. If you happen to be in the user calibration mode by mistake, you can return to the weighing mode by waiting one minute.
