Satellite-receiver Supervisor
The RCA DSC112A Satellite-Receiver Supervisor provides the ability to monitor and to control up to twelve RCA commercial DirecTV satellite-receivers, primarily targeting head-end and other fixedchannel applications in hotels, hospitals, schools, restaurants, bars and other commercial establishments. It gives positive indication of the status of each receiver, providing assurance of proper operation and reducing needless service calls. Its operation may be characterized by three modes: •
local monitoring – It displays the satellite channel being tuned and warns of common error conditions (such as a missing satellite signal or an unresponsive receiver), automatically sequencing through all active receivers or dwelling on one of particular interest.

on-screen monitoring and control – When connected to an RCA commercial television by means of a standard computer-network cable (not included), it can display an on-screen summary of all satellite-receivers, their channels and their status, and it can change the satellite channel tuned by the receiver remotely.

computer monitoring and control – When connected to the serial port of a computer by means of a standard 9-pin serial adapter (not included), it can allow the computer to monitor and to control the satellite-receivers, even extracting the time & date from the satellite.
In on-screen mode, a simple press of the SYSTEM remote-control button takes the TV from normal operation and brings up an on-screen summary of the current status of all receivers: which are active, what satellite channel they are receiving, the received-signal strength and (optionally) onto what CATV channel they are modulated.
