e GE Security Product Data Sheet www.GESecurity.com DSR-2000e Single-Channel Digital Recorder Overview If you can use a VCR, you can use the DSR-2000e–the first true VCR replacement. This single channel digital recorder looks, feels, and operates just like a time-lapse VCR–but with more reliability, faster access to images, and the capability to remotely view, download, and share images. The DSR-2000e control panel features the same simple functions as a VCR, plus a convenient jog shuttle dial for scanning through images rapidly or frame by frame. Recordings are saved to an 80 GB hard drive or up to four 250 GB hard drives for a total of 1 TB of storage space. Outstanding Features With the DSR-2000e, fast forwarding and rewinding has never been easier. One-button searches and simple onscreen menus enable users to retrieve recordings by date, time, camera, or alarm–something a VCR cannot do. There are no tapes to handle, lose, or break, and no tape heads to clean or maintain. The DSR-2000e also features superb image resolution: 720 x 484 in NTSC format and 720 x 576 in PAL. It records live images at speeds up to 60 pictures per second–the same as real-time VCR recording and twice as fast as most digital recorders. It records at speeds equivalent to a VCR’s time lapse settings, so it is easy to replace a VCR in an existing system. The option to record and play back audio at any speed over 1 pps is also available. And the DSR works with the multiplexer you already own. The DSR-2000e comes with WaveReader™ software and an Ethernet port, which can be used to connect to a network. Authorized users can then view live or recorded images, and download or e-mail recorded images. Because they are digital, images from multiplexers are easily decoded through the network. Using an SCSI connection, users can even archive images onto CDs, DATs, AITs, or the DVSe.
