DT Research Mobile Tablet PC from MICROS MICROS Systems Tablet PC offerings from DT Research include the (former) DT362 and (current) DT365 Tablet PCs. Both include an integrated Mag Stripe Reader and 1 Year Extended Warranty, for the Standard View Display models (DT362 #700711-314; DT365 #700711-330) as a complimentary part of the MICROS collection of mobile devices. The DT36x sports fast Wi-Fi and 16GB minimum storage. The array of accessories available to the DT36x makes it well rounded for mobile computing. By default, CAL is not enabled, but is easily accessed from the Windows Start Menu. The CAL is an intelligent software agent designed to remotely manage the software on the DT362/5. The CAL is open in design and can be used with both MICROS and non-MICROS applications. The cost of the CAL is included in the cost of the Tablet PC. Note: Unlike the CAL client on MICROS Windows CE workstations, WIN32 CAL does not perform operating system updates. To ensure correct service packs and fixes are applied to the POS Ready 2009 (or POS Ready7) image, the customer must implement one of the operating system update mechanisms provided by Microsoft. Wireless Infrastructure Proper wireless coverage is essential for wireless connectivity. A site-survey should always be performed before implementing the DT362/5 to ensure enough bandwidth is available. To use the DT362/5 on a wired network, it must be connected to a docking cradle. Please see the accessory section below for more details. Environmental Although the DT362/5 has a wide operating temperature range of 0° to 40°C, it is not considered a “highly” ruggedized device. Care should be taken to avoid spills, drops, or situations where rough handling and physical abuse are likely. For outdoor venues, or locations where the device is likely to be dropped onto concrete or similar flooring, the Mobile Micros Handheld device may be a better choice. Accessories Desktop Charging Cradle The Docking cradle provides extra power, Ethernet and USB ports. The Docking Cradle is not mandatory since the DT362/5 already contains a power supply for charging. However, the cradle offers the ability to use a hardwire Ethernet connection instead of the wireless network (Standard warranty). Magnetic Stripe Reader The MSR is integrated into the DT362/5 for added convenience. It utilizes all 3-Tracks and can be swiped in either direction and adheres to ANSI\ISO standards 7810, 7811-1/6, 7813. The MSR uses an OPOS Driver that is embedded into the DT362/5. The OPOS drivers are also available for download from the hardware portal. Protective Rubber Grips The DT362/5 is available with a set of Protective Rubber Grips. Extras can be ordered if needed. The Protective Rubber Grips provide a small amount of protection to the case from normal everyday use. They do not protect against drops or spills. 2 Shoulder Straps A set of Shoulder Straps are available for the DT362/5, to carry the unit hands-free. Hand Strap The DT365 Tablet comes STANDARD with one hand strap, to securely hold the Tablet, for left or right-handed users. External Battery Pack External, snap-on, hot-swappable battery pack - doubles duration of mobile operation, Li-Lon, 28W. The External Battery Pack is in addition to the internal battery. Use of the external battery increases the DT362/5 runtime by several extra hours. Single External Battery Pack Charger with AC adapter and US Cord This charger will re-charge one external battery pack (Standard warranty). Six-Bay Battery Charger The Six-Bay Charger charges up to 6 external battery packs at once. It comes with a Power Supply and US Power Cord (Standard warranty). These depot services are provided directly by DT Research. See separate document on 36 Month Manufacturer Direct Depot warranty for DT362/5 DayView Display, -315 and -335 Standard Warranty Details (with Standard Display 700711-314, -330) DT Research makes the following limited warranty. DT Research warrants the product and its parts against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a standard period of twelve (12) months from date of shipment of Products to Purchaser. During this period, DT Research will repair or replace a defective product or part without charge for parts and labor to the Purchaser/End User. 1. The warranty applies only to products manufactured or distributed by DT Research. Inc. 2. The warranty applies only to defects in material or workmanship as limited above and does not include items subject to normal wear, such as gradual degradation in battery capacity. The warranty applies only to defects which occur during normal use and does not extend to damage to products or parts which resultsfrom alteration, modification, faulty installation or service by anyone other than an authorized DT Research Service Center/Depot; damage to products or parts caused by accident, abuse, or misuse, or maintenance, mishandling, misapplication, or use in violation of instructions furnished by us; damage which occurs in shipment or any damage caused by acts of God, such as lightning and earthquakes. 3. Products under warranty, in time and scope, will be repaired and returned to customers (Purchaser/End User) in the 48 continental United States (does not include Hawaii or Alaska) via regular ground service, or equivalent, at DT Research expense. The customer is responsible for shipping costs to DT Research. In the case of frivolous returns, a service fee shall be assessed and the customer (Purchaser/End User) shall also be responsible for return shipping charges. 4. Products outside of the warranty period or scope shall be diagnosed at customer's (Purchaser’s/End User’s) expense. DT Research will require the customer's (Purchaser’s/End User’s) repair and payment authorization to proceed with any repairs. Service: The process of obtaining service, the service process, and the respective shipping responsibilities, apply for the Standard Warranty coverage. The range of incidents that requires Purchaser approvals or payments will be significantly reduced, resulting in shorter turnaround times. Peripheral Warranty Peripheral devices have a 1 Year Standard Manufacturer Direct Warranty. Battery packs (i.e. consumables) and Accessories (e.g. magnetic stripe reader) are not eligible for the enhanced features of the No-Fault Extended Warranty and Standard Warranty coverage does not apply beyond the first year. Coverage does not extend to products that are lost or stolen. 4 How the Purchaser/End-User Obtains MANUFACTURER DIRECT Depot Warranty Coverage (Standard and No-Fault) 1. Purchaser/End-User calls or emails DTR for technical support and customer service. a) The primary telephone number for technical support is 408-934-6171. b) The Email address is [email protected] c) Primary telephone support hours will be from 9AM to 6PM, USA West Coast time 2. RMA requests and issuance between DTR and Purchaser/End-User are communicated via email or telephone as noted below. a) The primary telephone number for said RMA support is 408-934-6187. b) The Email address is [email protected]. 3. Repair service is based on a “Return to Depot” model and shall conform to the following process:        Products for service, per RMAs issued, are to be shipped to DTR service depot (San Jose, California) by the Purchaser/End-User. Products are shipped at Purchaser/End-User expense (including duties and fees, as applicable). Packages are to be properly packed and clearly marked with RMA numbers. DTR will not be responsible for damages and loss in shipping. DTR shall diagnose Products based on problem report. DTR makes Warranty repairs within 5-7 business days  This is the time between “DTR receiving the device” and “DTR shipping the device”. The arrival time at Purchaser/End-User will be gated by ground service time or expedited service time at Purchaser/End-Users discretion.  Where approvals for repairs are needed (see below), it would be time between “Repair approval received” and “DTR shipping the device ”. DTR requests permission from Purchaser/End-User for non-Warranty repairs (to be repaired within 5-7 business days after approvals/payments are obtained/processed). Note: A product may be within Warranty in time, but still be out of Warranty in scope (e.g., accidents and abuse).   DTR reloads DT362/5 with the MICROS authorized image and OPOS drivers. No further tests will be performed on Purchaser’s/End-User’s software. DTR ships repaired Products to Purchaser/End-User:  If Purchaser/End User location is in USA (except Alaska and Hawaii),  Under Warranty: DTR ships via Ground service at DTR expense. Expedited service is available upon Purchaser/End-User request at Purchaser/End-User expense.  Not under Warranty: DTR ships at Purchaser/End-User expense with service type being choice of Purchaser/End-User  If the Purchaser/End-Users location is not in USA (incl.
