The fiber optic data transceiver shall be an IFS DT4000 series. The unit shall act as an active optical fiber optic star over standard 62.5/125 multimode or 9/125 single mode fiber optic cable. The transceiver shall have LED receive and transmit status indicators. The unit shall be fully transparent to either data protocol and no user adjustments shall be required for protocol selection. The unit shall provide for transmission distances up to 37 miles (60 km) without requiring manual adjustments or optical attenuators, and the optical dynamic range shall exceed the optical power budget specifications. All printed circuit boards shall be manufactured from Mil-Grade specification circuit board material. The housing shall be all metal construction with all connections identified with silk screened markings. The unit shall be available in surface mount versions. The units shall have solid-state limiters on all power lines which shall provide for automatic reset. The transceiver shall be U.L. Listed. The unit shall be fully compliant with TS-1/ TS-2 environmental NEMA and Caltrans Traffic Signal Control Equipment specifications for operating and storage temperature, shock, vibration, humidity and voltage transient protection. The units shall be able to be wired together to expand the system to up to 28 optical ports without internal or external adjustments.
