Dual Audio Amplifier a DeCrane Aircraft Company
AI-SW400X
Product Description Audio International’s AI-SW400X is a 200-watt, dual audio power amplifier. This compact and lightweight unit combines both subwoofer and stereo amplifier capabilities, which make it perfect for almost any cabin audio experience. Two (2) AI-ST100X amps are combined into one (1) easy-tomount and connect enclosure with a built-in 135 Hz crossover. This crossover provides separate subwoofer and midrange / tweeter outputs for full range performance. The AI-SW400X unit includes PA audio override with gain adjustments and has four (4) channels, 50 WRMS. Features

Auxiliary power supply converts incoming +28 VDC into +12 VDC internally fused @ 3A. 5-amp fuses at the back of the unit are for the amplifier power protection. Gain controls are on the back of the unit. Initial audio adjustments should begin at mid-level and adjusted as low as possible to obtain acceptable output levels without distortion. The AI-SW400X is utilized to compensate for low-level audio signals by “amplifying” them to a higher level. The amplifier adjustments will be most effective when the interior is thoroughly furnished and all pieces of furniture are in place. A spectrum analyzer is the best tool to use in determining the proper amplifier settings.

Twisted shielded cable must be in accordance with MIL-DTL-27500 or equivalent. Ensure that power and ground are applied only where required. A stud is provided on the front of each amplifier for grounding of the unit. Grounding wire must be 12 AWG minimum, maximum length 3 feet attached to a solid airframe. The unit must be located as close to source equipment as possible. Long low-level runs may introduce noise into the audio signal. Protect power wires with circuit breakers or fuses located close to the electrical power source bus. Ensure that power and ground are applied only where required. Allow a minimum of ½ inch air space around the amplifier due to the amount of heat generated by the unit.
