Lowell Dual-Door Frame
Description: The LDDF is an architecturally-appealing dual-door frame that solves the need to separate and secure equipment in a single rack installation. This attractive "boardroom quality" solution for dual-access security features beveled edges and face-mounts to Lowell ganging, floor and wall-mount racks. The steel frame is ordered in the same panel space opening sizes as the rack and is equipped with threaded nutserts to mount two doors (LFD-series, ordered separately) with left or right swing. The LDDF is 1"D with vents and bevels to match Lowell racks. The frame (and specified doors) will be factory-installed when ordered with a rack. They can also be field-installed without drilling or removing prewired equipment.The frame face-mounts using four 10-32 x 5/8" hex washer-head machine screws (included) to the top and bottom factory-mounted nutserts on Lowell racks (typically used to mount door hinges). The frame includes threaded nutserts to mount up to 2 LFD-series doors. Security Bracket (included with frame). A security bracket, which mounts to the top of the bottom door, completes the dual door system. This bracket projects into the rack to within 1/4" of the mounting rails to secure the contents of the bottom section when the top door is open. The bracket will be factory-installed when the frame is ordered with the rack or may be field-installed using two screws. This security bracket may also be field-changed to the bottom of the top door or not used at all, if desired. NOTE: since the bracket extends to within 1/4" of the mounting rails, equipment with protruding knobs may need to be repositioned to avoid the bracket. Features: • Separates and secures equipment in a single installation. • LDDF frame allows top and bottom doors to be keyed differently. • Frame mounts without using panel mounting space. • Frame fits Lowell racks in these series: LER, LER-F, LGR, LPR, LPPR, LSER, LSER-F, LSGR, LWBR and LWR. Doors: (order separately) • See the LFD-series of door selections that include solid steel, fully-vented steel, and steel frame with a smoked Plexiglas insert. For added security, top and bottom doors can be keyed differently by selecting a standard front door lock for the top door (lock will be black), and a rear door lock for the bottom door (lock will be chrome and is designated with “RL” in the model number). A&E Specifications: For separated and secured accessibility to rackmounted equipment, each Lowell rack shall be equipped with a surface-mounting dual front door system. The LDDF dual-door frame allows racks to accept two short doors for increased security.
Rack model LER-F3522 is shown with optional LDDF-35 (dual-door frame), LFD-14P (Plexiglas top door) and LFD-21FV (fully-vented bottom door). Components are sold separately but factory-assembled when ordered together.

The surface-mount, 16-gauge steel frame shall extend 1" from the face of the rack and the surfacemount doors shall extend 1" from the frame. Frame and doors shall attach without drilling to factory installed, threaded inserts. Inserts are located on the right and left to accommodate mounting on either side. Top and bottom doors (shall be keyed differently for security and) shall be (16-gauge solid steel construction, 16gauge fully-vented steel construction, or 16-gauge steel frame with smoked Plexiglas insert). Frame and doors shall be finished with black powder epoxy paint.

Lowell Dual-Door Frame
When ordered with a rack, the LDDF dual door frame is factory-mounted. For field installation, simply mount the frame to the rack using the four 10-32 x 5/8" screws provided. Mount screws into the top two nutserts and bottom two nutserts as shown (back screw out slightly). Frame then mounts over screwheads using keyhole slots on rear of frame.
Doors (sold separately) are factory-mounted to the right hinge when ordered with a rack and dual-door frame. For field installation, doors mount to the frame (left or right) using Lowell's standard hinges and 10-32 x 1" socket-head machine screws. For detailed instructions, refer to the specification sheet for LFD-series doors.
Security bracket (included with LDDF-series frames) keeps contents in bottom section secure when top door is open. Bracket projects into the rack to within 1/4" of the mounting rails and is factory installed when the frame and doors are ordered with the rack. For field installation, two 8-32 x .5" machine screws are provided.
