Make sure the cords are NEVER routed between the mattress and box springs. • If the plug does not fit into the outlet correctly, contact a qualified electrician. • B e sure that the warming blanket power supply is used only with 120V, 60 HZ current supply. • M ake sure the cord from the controller to the blanket is connected and locked tightly.

Set up and operation Note: Queen or King blankets include an additional power supply and controller as each side operates independently. 1. P lace the blanket on the bed with the “Use and Care” instruction label right side up and at the foot of the bed. 2. Place power supplies under the bed on the floor. See below for correct placement.
Important: Do not tuck cords between the mattress and the box spring.
6
3. Place the controllers on or near the head of the bed. See example below.
FPO 4. A ttach the connector cords from the controllers to the connectors at the foot of the blanket. Do not tuck cords between the mattress and the box spring. Run them under the bed on the floor. See example below.
7
5. P lug in the power supply cords. You may use a properly rated UL listed powerstrip extension cord if needed. 6. C hoose your heat setting. The higher the number chosen – the warmer the heat. See below for example.
Higher Lower
7. P ush the on/off button to turn on. The blanket will go into the “pre-warm mode” and will continue to pre-warm until it reaches your dial setting. The blanket will then continue to heat at your dial setting all night.
Notes: • W hen ON and operating properly, the controller will be slightly warm to the touch. The higher the dial setting, the warmer it will be. This is completely normal and safe. • The power supply or transformer will be warm to the touch when the blanket is in use and slightly warm when the blanket is off. This is normal. 8
8. If you wish your bed to be extra warm when you first get into it, you may turn on the blanket approximately 30 minutes before retiring (or longer, if you wish even more warmth) with the dial set at HI. Then reset the dial to your desired all-night warmth level. 9. Y ou may adjust the dial setting at any time and the automatic pre-warm feature will not reactivate. However, if you push the controller button OFF or unplug any of the wires, the blanket will turn OFF. The automatic pre-warm feature is again activated upon startup. 10. To turn the blanket OFF, push the on/off button on the controller.

CLEANING AND STORAGE IMPORTANT: • Never dry clean this blanket! • Never use bleach when washing this blanket! • NEVER put this blanket through a wringer! Machine Washing Disconnect all cord(s) from the blanket. Place your blanket in a top-load washing machine and fill the tub with warm water. Add a small amount of detergent and then let soak for 5 minutes. Agitate on the delicate or gentle cycle for 2 minutes. Spin on normal speed. Fill the tub for a cool rinse. Agitate for one minute and spin dry.
Hand-Washing Washing your blanket by hand is the best way to make it last. To do this, disconnect all cord(s) from the blanket. Wash your blanket separately by hand in a tub of lukewarm (100°F) water using a small amount of mild laundry soap or detergent. Soak the warming blanket for 5 minutes. Next, gently work the blanket up and down for 5 more minutes. NEVER rub or scrub roughly. Rinse thoroughly in cool water until all traces of soap or detergent are gone. Squeeze excess water out by hand by starting at one end and working your way to the other.
Important! NEVER twist the warming blanket to squeeze out excess water. IMPORTANT! • N ever use commercial dryers at the laundromat to dry the warming
blanket–they may be extra hot and the heat could damage the wires.
• Never plug in your warming blanket while damp. • Never iron the warming blanket. 10
Machine Dry To machine dry, put your warming blanket into a dryer on low heat and allow to tumble until dry. Make sure that your blanket has enough room to tumble freely.
Line Dry You can line dry your warming blanket simply by draping the warming blanket over two parallel clotheslines or a shower rod with the head and foot ends down. STORAGE • Store away as you would any other blanket, folded in a dry place. • A lways turn off the electric current when the blanket is not in use, either by turning off the controller or unplugging the power supply from the wall outlet. • W rapping the cord around the controls may damage the cord. Loop loosely when storing. • N ever use dry cleaning fluid on this blanket as cleaning solvents may damage the wiring insulation.

Troubleshooting Issue The lamp on my controller does not light up.
Solution Make sure that all the wire connections are tight and that the power supply cord is connected to a live outlet (try a lamp to verify that the outlet is working properly).
The controller lamp is lit but the blanket does not heat up.
Test the blanket by folding it over on itself and turning the dial setting to HI. Make sure that the controller lamp is lit. After approximately 5 minutes, carefully feel between the layers. Never leave the blanket turned on and folded up for more than a few minutes.
I feel some warmth but not a lot. How warm should this blanket get?
This blanket will provide enough warmth to keep you quite comfortable even in an extremely cold room with only a light blanket on top. You should spend several nights experimenting with settings until you find your personal comfort level. This blanket is not like a heating pad (this amount of heat would be too hot to use all night long). In normal operation, warming blankets do not feel hot to the touch. 12

Issue
Solution
Can I use a bedspread or comforter over my warming blanket?
You normally will not need more warmth than this blanket will provide. However, you may use any bedding you wish with this blanket except an electric mattress pad, another warming blanket or a heating pad (overheating may occur).
My blanket works fine but then seems to shut off.
The 10 hour automatic shutoff feature may have activated. Simply push the ON button again and your blanket will heat for an additional 10 hours or until you turn it off. If 10 hours have not elapsed, check that all your connections are tight and the wall outlet is not turned off.
Can I sit or lie on my warming blanket?
Just sitting or lying on the blanket will not harm it. Jumping on it or other similar abuse may damage it.
Troubleshooting (continued) Issue
Solution
Why are my power supply and controller warm?
Heat is produced when the 120V AC from your wall outlet is transformed into non-hazardous low voltage current. This warmth is completely normal and is nothing to be concerned about. The power consumed is approximately 1 watt (much less than a typical night light).
