DVDInMotion_NBT User Guide This user guide describes how to use the DVDInMotion_NBT software in your car. The function of DVDInMotion_NBT software is to enable video playback while the vehicle is in motion. The video source can be DVD player, TV tuner or USB mass storage device based on the vehicle equipment. For safety reasons only the passengers are allowed to watch the video picture. The driver is always responsible for watching the traffic. CAUTION: Use DVDInMotion_NBT software solely in the vehicle for which it was ordered! Creating the DVDInMotion_NBT USB flash drive The software is installed to the car using ordinary USB flash drive. All you need is standard USB memory stick. The size of data file is only 1,8 MB and thus any memory stick capacity available will work. Recommended flash drive capacity is 4 to 16 GB. In final confirmation of your order, you have received the download link for the software data created for your car (BIN file). Download and save the BIN file to the USB memory stick connected to your computer. The file can not be unpacked or expanded using the computer, it has to be saved as it is. Now the USB flash drive can be used in the car to install the software. Enabling the video in motion 1) Start the engine of your car and insert the USB flash drive into the USB interface in the center armrest. 2) Wait at least 30 seconds and then disconnect the USB flash drive. 3) Press and hold the rotary volume button until the iDrive system reboots (in approx. 15-20 seconds), then release the volume button. Alternatively: If you are unable to reboot the system by holding the volume button (nothing happens), please stop the engine, turn off the ignition and lock the car for 10 minutes or longer. Then unlock the car, start the engine and installation will continue as described below. In next 1-3 minutes the iDrive system reboots once again and installation is finished. Congratulations! From now on you can play video in your car while driving. Disabling the video in motion In case you need to restore the original state of your vehicle (i.e. for a service check), please repeat the same procedure as for enabling the video. At the end, the video will be disabled and everything restored to the normal state. And then, if you need to re-enable it again in the future, simply repeat these steps at any time without limitations. Note Please make sure the file isn’t renamed after you save it to the flash drive. Some browsers could append suffixes like “ (1)” or “ -2“ to the file name when downloading it. This is known to block the unlock function. Also, make sure there is only one BIN file stored on the flash drive. After the unlock is completed, remove the installation BIN file from the flash drive before using the drive again in your car. Disclaimer: The driver must not be diverted by video functions while driving. The driver is always fully responsible for watching the traffic.
