Dynamic Vocal CD11 DYNAMIC VOCAL MICROPHONE OVERVIEW: The CD11 is an entry level dynamic vocal microphone designed for a wide variety of applications including music, speech, corporate AV, karaoke, houses of worship, and education. The CD11 is known for its clear vocal reproduction, resistance to feedback, reliability, and sturdiness. The CD11 is characterized with a uniformly controlled cardioid polar pattern which helps to isolate the vocals from the rest of the instruments on stage. With a wide frequency range of 60 Hz - 15 kHz, the CD11 features the added convenience of an on-off switch for user control. The CD11 is designed with bass proximity and mid-range presence, resulting in a full bodied sound on small to mid-size PA systems. The CD11 is well balanced, comfortable to hold, durable, and manufactured to provide consistent results. Roadworthy construction includes a precision die cast zinc alloy body, black e-coat finish, steel mesh grill, and heavy duty ABS clip. SUPPLIED ACCESSORIES: ABS Mic Clip 20’ XLR-XLR microphone cable OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES: WS375 - External foam windscreen T50K - Low to high impedance matching transformer FEATURES: Clear vocal reproduction On-off switch Cardioid pattern helps resist feedback Provides vocal isolation on stage Durable steel grill Includes 20’ mic cable 5 year warranty APPLICATIONS: Multi-purpose vocal stage, karaoke, Corporate, AV, education, house of worship Home studio recording Acoustic instruments WS357 CBL-20 T50K CD11 Transducer Type Frequency Response Polar Pattern Output Impedance Sensitivity at 1k Off Axis Rejection Maximum SPL Power Requirements Connector Polarity Housing / Finish Weight Length Dynamic Moving Coil 60 Hz - 15 kHz Cardioid 600 ohms 1.8 mV / Pa o >20 dB @ 180 ≥128 dB None 3 pin gold plated male XLR connector Positive pressure on diaphragm produces positive voltage on pin 2 relative to pin 3 of output XLR connector Zinc Alloy / Black Satin 226 g / 8 ounces 185 mm / 7.3 inches FREQUENCY / POLARS: ARCHITECTS AND ENGINEERS SPECIFICATIONS: CD11 SPECIFICATIONS: The microphone shall be of the dynamic type operating on the moving coil principle and the polar pattern of the microphone shall be cardioid. The nominal output impedance shall be equal to 600 ohms at 1 kHz. The microphone shall have a sensitivity of 1.8 mV / Pa at 1 kHz and a sound pressure level ≥128 dB. The microphone body shall be of die cast zinc alloy and the grill of steel mesh. The overall dimensions shall be 22 mm in diameter at the base, 53 mm at the widest point on the grill, and 185 mm in length. The microphone shall be the Audix CD11. OPERATION: The CD11 is a low impedance microphone and should be plugged into a “mic level” input on your console, mixer, or recording device. Please note that your microphone does not require phantom power and will not be effected in any way by phantom power should it be running simultaneously when the microphone is in operation. Avoid plugging or unplugging the microphone from the PA system unless the channel is muted or the volume of the system turned down. Failure to do so may result in a loud “popping” noise which could seriously damage the speakers in the PA system. USER TIPS: The CD11 has a cardioid pick-up pattern in order to help eliminate sound from other instruments on stage from “bleeding” into the microphone. Operating distance for vocal application can vary between 2-6 inches depending on how many other instruments are on stage, the volume of the music, and the type of monitors being used. When using floor monitors, position the microphone so that it is parallel to the floor. When using multiple microphones on a live performance stage, allow a distance of 2-3 feet between mics to avoid phase issues. You may plug the CD11 into a high impedance input (like guitar cabinet or karaoke machine), however you will first need to acquire an Audix T50-K impedance adapter. *Further miking techniques may be found on our website at www.audixusa.com DIMENSIONS (mm): ***All specifications subject to change without notice. SERVICE AND WARRANTY: This microphone is under warranty for a period of 5 years from any and all manufacturing defects. Should your microphone fail in any way, please contact the Audix Service department at 503-682-6933. A Return Authorization number is required before returning any products. CARE AND MAINTENANCE: The CD11 is manufactured to exacting specs with road worthy construction. However, the capsule is highly sensitive and should be handled with care. Avoid extreme temperatures and be sure to store your microphone in the pouch provided when not in use. Moisture of any kind can adversely affect the sound and performance of your microphone.
