If not already fitted, then fit the KWG-6080 into the metal faceplate piece from the front bezel. Now adjust the wall-AP unit in and out of the fascia to give the required protrusion and to fit the back box depth#. Fix the screws at the side to lock the position (don’t overtighten). A. B. Connecting the KWG-6080 1 Unpack the box and verify the following contents: o KWG-6080 Modular WLAN Access Point o One wall faceplate o Screws (2 pieces) Before You Begin Quick Installation Guide D. C. Check that the device correctly powers (LEDs’ on the front panel) before fitting the bezel to the wall box and fixing the screws. Now plug the data/PoE lan cable from the wall box to the rear of the wall-AP. Note: Typically a back box of 47mm depth is required to fit the Wall-AP. Where the current back box is not deep enough then an optional spacer can be used to bring the faceplate out slightly (10mm) from the wall. # If you cannot connect, refer to the Troubleshooting section in the User Guide on the Installation CD-ROM. You should now be able to connect wired and/or wirelessly to the KWG-6080. o Wireless: Using a computer with an 802.11b/g or 802.11n network adapter, launch a Web browser to connect to the Internet. o Wired: Connect an Ethernet cable from the KWG-6080 to an available Ethernet port on the computer and launch a Web browser to connect to the Internet. Testing Connectivity Configuring the KWG-6080 A. You can configure the Wall-AP via a PC connected to the rear or the front LAN ports. B. Configure the computer’s TCP/IP setting with a static IP address of 192.168.100.5 and 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask. C. Launch your browser and enter http://192.168.100.1 in the address field. D. The login screen will appear. Type admin for both the username and password. E. Once you have logged in, the Home page will appear. Click Setup Wizard and follow the onscreen instructions to configure the basic connection settings. Alternately, click Advanced Setup and refer to the User Guide on the Installation CD-ROM for more detailed information on settings. 3 2
